Spirit City: Lofi Sessions

The built-in tools are very helpful, so as a baseline it's a win. I love the world-building and aesthetic of the app. I feel as though some of the animations of certain spirits could be more detailed. It's a little disappointing how often they're repeated. Seeing more of the personality of each spirit would be a great improvement. Since the tools seem to be locked down and work well, I feel as though more effort could be put into the animations of the spirits when doing different activities since they're meant to be the draw and sub-goal of the game (your productivity being the primary one). Especially across DLC packs.

This game is exactly what it says it is, I really enjoyed it and I like how you can customise your characters to be normal looking or have all sorts of different features.

As someone who tends to multitask and have a lot of things to do at once, I sometimes have trouble concentrating, and these kinds of games are a big help in that regard! I love that you can write down all the tasks you have to do so you don't forget them. The Pomodoro system is really well designed, and the game is super cute! The room decor is gorgeous, I wish I could live there haha <3 And catching spirits while I focus on the background is something I absolutely love! I hope they add lots more spirits in the future because it's so much fun to catch them while I'm drawing. Is more of a tool than a game, but if you struggle with productivity I totally recommend it to you!

A great way to study or to get work done! It's wonderful to be able to get in game achievements and get that dopamine for getting things done. Love having a virtual body-double with adorable compainions!

This got me through studying for my exams and finals. Even though I don't need it for studying as much anymore, I still come back to it from time to time just to relax. It's more of a tool than a game, obviously because that's what it was built for, but it's so damn good at what it does. It does need a certain will for self-improvement, of course. It's not some magic spell that makes you good at studying all of a sudden, as with any tool for self-improvement. You kinda Pavlov yourself into studying when this is running, but it works like a charm once it clicks. The embedded tools also work like a charm. The Pomodoro Timer and To-Do List are what helped me the most, but it also comes with a calendar, a journal, a habit tracker, and a Productivity History where you can see in a list or graph how productive you were on specific days. It comes with music (it collabs with Homework Radio and Lofi Girl, but also has other songs and a web player for YouTube) and sound options like rain, wind, cooking, or background chatter to immerse you into your own bubble. Obviously, you could use all these tools separately, but this gives you cute visuals, creature collecting, and every tool you need all in one place. As for customization, in the base game you can customize your bedroom, yourself, and the spirits you collect. The room customization is quite in-depth. Sadly, you can't freely place stuff wherever you want, you can only change certain set spots, but there is a very good choice of different styles, and many items can be customized in color. This allows you to create your own unique space. Now for the DLCs. I love them honestly, and I keep buying all of them because the devs deserve the money. The depth of customization from the base game applies to all the DLCs as well. They all give you exactly what they promise. A new space to customize with new activities and new spirits to collect. We got the "Cozy Kitchen DLC" which gives you... well, a cozy kitchen. "All Aboard!" comes with your own train car and observation deck. "Enchanted Garden" gives you planters, a garden, and a patio. The "Magical Library DLC" that just came out at the time of this review is also awesome. I just spent the last hour customizing my library space and collecting the first new spirit. 10/10 Tool

I'm not sure I've properly delved into all the productivity features or even really understand how to "play" the game, but having it on in the background is like having a cozy work buddy. The music is great for working too.

i love decorating the interiors and having the different locations
