About
SpaceSlog is a challenging and unique spaceship and colony simulator that focuses on shipbuilding, crew interaction, exploration and survival. Inspired by games such as Rimworld, Starship Theory, Dwarf Fortress and X-COM, as well as iconic media such as Firefly, Stargate Universe and The Expanse.
Your colony ship is destroyed, and with it humanity's final hope is lost to the dark, cold void. But somewhere, deep within the slog, drifts a barely functioning life pod. Alone, hungry, and lost in space, you command a motley crew of ragged survivors and must guide them through a time that has come to be known as the SpaceSlog era.
Explore. Trade. Battle. Survive. Thrive!
Build your ship any way you choose.
A new generated galaxy every time you play.
Meet other factions, friend or foe.
Manage your crews moods and needs.
Trade with passing ships and factions.
Electrical power simulation. Build cables, generators and batteries, or even solar panels to harvest energy from stars.
Atmospheric simulation. Place down gas generators, gas scrubbers, air tanks, ducting and air vents to carry gas around your ship. Wear the correct equipment when venturing outside of your ship.
Temperature simulation. Place down heat extractors and find other ways to keep your ship cool, especially when close to stars.
Lighting simulations. Ensure your crew have enough light. Stars will give off light in the darkness of space.

A full immersive economic system.
Plus many other improvements across the board.
Whether you want to build a small but nimble ship with a small crew, or a large battleship with lots of crew, the choice is yours. Just ensure you have enough supplies to manage your crew and keep your ship functioning.
Careful consideration must be used when placing doors, power or atmospheric systems in case of breaches or other hazards.
Each time you play, the game's incident system will generate a different galaxy for you to explore. Whichever difficulty you choose will influence how this galaxy or incidents are generated.
Stay in one place for too long or get stranded and your crew will surely die. You must keep moving and find other ships or factions to trade with in order to survive.
The needs of your crew must be met in order to keep your ship fully functioning. An angry crew may rebel, decide not to work or give up completely. Ensure you have enough food and water to feed your crew. You must also choose your captain wisely.
Gear up and fight different species of aliens in melee or ranged combat. Cut off their limbs and allow them to bleed out so you can harvest their meat for food and skin for furniture. Build a medbay to heal your own sick and injured crew.
All the game's data is stored in JSON files. This means it is extremely easy to change anything currently in the game and even add new ones. In the future we plan to expand on this even further.
SpaceSlog has been meticulously hand crafted over the course of many years. This not only ensures we have a robust and manageable architecture, allowing for extensive mod support and efficient iteration on bugs, support and updates. But it also offers you, the player, a bespoke experience with original visuals, sounds and music.
The author of SpaceSlog has spent over a decade painstakingly developing a large and popular free modification for Mount&Blade Warband called A World of Ice and Fire. This is the reason for wanting extensive mod support and should hopefully give peace of mind for anyone wanting to purchase SpaceSlog, knowing the author is not only accustomed to long development cycles, but it also dedicated and willing to finish a project.

You can tell that Produno has put a lot of work and heart into SpaceSlog. Very good game the way it is right now! You can see that SpaceSlog is getting regularly updated. Should be even better in the future. There is a lot of content to explore in the game as it is right now. I can only imagine how good SpaceSlog will be after even more updates! I like SpaceSlog's graphics a lot more than Rimworld. SpaceSlog's graphics pop and I like the attention to detail. Beautiful game. Highly recommend SpaceSlog, well worth the money.

Don't buy it right now. Emphasis on Slog. This game is slow, very slow. Your crew spends more time sleeping than doing anything else. I had to literally delete the beds so they would go do something instead of trying to sleep off minor bruises. Getting attacked by a space worm every 10 minutes isn't fun, because it just means I'll have to consume a medpack and do some more waiting for them to heal. The ship building is very cool, though. Most of this game is almost identical to Rim World, but living in a ship makes me want to build something more than just a giant square.
I think the price doesn't justify the features of Space Haven, which is half the price, has more features, and better graphics. I also think that if it's in early access, it should at least have one update per week, including new content. I think the game has potential, but it needs more polish.
