SpaceSlog is a challenging and unique spaceship and colony simulator that focuses on shipbuilding, crew interaction, exploration and survival. Inspired by games such as Rimworld, Starship Theory, Dwarf Fortress and X-COM, as well as iconic media such as Firefly, Stargate Universe and The Expanse.
Your colony ship is destroyed, and with it humanity's final hope is lost to the dark, cold void. But somewhere, deep within the slog, drifts a barely functioning life pod. Alone, hungry, and lost in space, you command a motley crew of ragged survivors and must guide them through a time that has come to be known as the SpaceSlog era.
Explore. Trade. Battle. Survive. Thrive!
Build your ship any way you choose.
A new generated galaxy every time you play.
Meet other factions, friend or foe.
Manage your crews moods and needs.
Trade with passing ships and factions.
Electrical power simulation. Build cables, generators and batteries, or even solar panels to harvest energy from stars.
Atmospheric simulation. Place down gas generators, gas scrubbers, air tanks, ducting and air vents to carry gas around your ship. Wear the correct equipment when venturing outside of your ship.
Temperature simulation. Place down heat extractors and find other ways to keep your ship cool, especially when close to stars.
Lighting simulations. Ensure your crew have enough light. Stars will give off light in the darkness of space.
Develop your own story every time you play.

Various types of crafting.
Animals - pets and husbandry.
A full immersive economic system.
Plus many other improvements across the board.
Whether you want to build a small but nimble ship with a small crew, or a large battleship with lots of crew, the choice is yours. Just ensure you have enough supplies to manage your crew and keep your ship functioning.
Careful consideration must be used when placing doors, power or atmospheric systems in case of breaches or other hazards.
Each time you play, the game's incident system will generate a different galaxy for you to explore. Whichever difficulty you choose will influence how this galaxy or incidents are generated.
Stay in one place for too long or get stranded and your crew will surely die. You must keep moving and find other ships or factions to trade with in order to survive.
The needs of your crew must be met in order to keep your ship fully functioning. An angry crew may rebel, decide not to work or give up completely. Ensure you have enough food and water to feed your crew. You must also choose your captain wisely.
Gear up and fight different species of aliens in melee or ranged combat. Cut off their limbs and allow them to bleed out so you can harvest their meat for food and skin for furniture. Build a medbay to heal your own sick and injured crew.
All the game's data is stored in JSON files. This means it is extremely easy to change anything currently in the game and even add new ones. In the future we plan to expand on this even further.
SpaceSlog has been meticulously hand crafted over the course of many years. This not only ensures we have a robust and manageable architecture, allowing for extensive mod support and efficient iteration on bugs, support and updates. But it also offers you, the player, a bespoke experience with original visuals, sounds and music.
The author of SpaceSlog has spent over a decade painstakingly developing a large and popular free modification for Mount&Blade Warband called A World of Ice and Fire. This is the reason for wanting extensive mod support and should hopefully give peace of mind for anyone wanting to purchase SpaceSlog, knowing the author is not only accustomed to long development cycles, but it also dedicated and willing to finish a project.

I dunno about this one, we will have to see how it turns out...
Been playing the demo, was really excited for the release of this game, I love a challenge and its definitely that trying to keep my people alive whilst building my ship up combines two of the things I really enjoy in games, survival building trading really looking forward too seeing just how far I can get and excited to see how this game develops and evolves excellent game!
Pretty fun so far and has the bones to be a worthy successor to Starship Theory.

I am having a great time learning and playing this game.
Demasiado caro para lo que es, la nave se controla sola, no hace falta un puesto de mando, luego esta fatal aun ... en un futuro puede ser bueno pero no es un juego de 20 euros, como mucho 4 euros. no lo recomiendo aun
Promising game. Excited to see how it develops
The first time ever that a game has lost me at character/crew generation. There are almost no options. Reroll does not work on captain, and despite what author replied to one of the other reviews, captain's stats are absolutely arbitrary and in no way depend on previous selections. At the very least effect is so minor that it is unnoticeable. This makes the "captain" who is supposed to be the main pawn have random/ arbitrary stats, just be harder to reroll. And yeah, skills. Some skills are arbitrarely locked out for some pawns. Aka Rimworld. But at least Rimworld had some explanation as to why. Traits/backgrounds and such. This game doesn't. Graphics. Level of their own, really. The game describes pawns as humans. Seriously, replace "humans" in there with orcs or goblins, and the pawn art would become be acceptable. Tutorial is annoying. It describes several optins to do something but only one is ever acceptable to proceed. I was always waiting for it to hang at some point. Maybe this game would be worth checking out after another year or so in development, but not now. Now it's a waste of time.
i have hundreds of hours on epic version yes i bought both bc i believe this game will be amazing starship theory but deeper yes sign me up please , the negative reviews must not of realized its ALPHA its got tons of content to be added but right now its alpha that would probably explain the barebones feel but its stable its HARD which i mean ur stuck in space its not spose to be easy ( u can make it easy tho) and its gonna be one of the greats ive owned the epic copy since it came out def recommend as this games gonna be GOATED and produno is a monster of a dev so lesss goooo the more support he has the faster the content bc he can work on it more lol rimworld released with content bc of kickstarters and supporters dont compare that to a solo dev with a full time job the games going to get there =p
Yes, works well on steamDeck. Things may be tuff to see, but once you put on glasses, its a fun game.
Pretty challenging but fun colony sim. I really enjoy the ship building system. You could say the game is a bit rough around the edges, but it's enjoyable regardless. Cool to see native Linux support.
