For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. If you liked the narrative in Space Pilgrim Academy: Year One, you will not be disappointed here. There's plenty of good twists and callbacks to the original games' characters that keep things interesting. Some of the academic classes and exercises are entertaining here when trying for all the different options, I particularly enjoyed the combat tactic scenario that plays out in the holodeck. Another solid entry in this series, some annoying backtracking but not overstaying its welcome. Like the other chapters there's always a few lines of dialogue that make me giggle.
Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2, developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by GrabTheGames, is a narrative-focused adventure that continues the story of Margaret Dale and her colleagues at the Galactic Union Academy. Building on the foundation of the first game, Year 2 expands the universe with deeper storytelling, complex character interactions, and an engaging science-fiction setting. Players step back into the shoes of Margaret, now navigating her second year at the academy, as she uncovers mysteries surrounding her peers and investigates unusual occurrences within the sprawling space station environment. The game presents a dual narrative structure, allowing players to follow multiple perspectives. Margaret herself begins to suspect that one of her classmates harbors extraordinary abilities, while her friends Gail and Sabina investigate suspicious activities at a sector known as 'The Cattle Market.' This branching storyline provides variety and encourages players to consider events from different angles, enriching the overall plot. The layered storytelling ensures that each discovery feels meaningful and that player choices influence the direction of the narrative. Visually, Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2 embraces a 2D top-down perspective reminiscent of classic JRPGs. The pixel art is detailed and expressive, effectively conveying the futuristic space station environments and character designs. While the graphics are simple compared to modern 3D titles, they carry a charm that complements the story-driven gameplay. The soundtrack enhances the atmosphere, using subtle musical cues to underscore suspenseful moments, emotional scenes, and exploration sequences, contributing to a fully immersive experience. Gameplay revolves around exploration, dialogue, and decision-making rather than combat. Players interact with a variety of characters, solve puzzles, and gather information to progress through the story. The choices made in conversations and actions have tangible consequences, affecting relationships with teammates and influencing the game's multiple endings. This emphasis on player agency adds replayability, as different choices lead to unique outcomes and alternative story developments. Character development is a central strength of the game. Each character is thoughtfully written, with distinct personalities, motivations, and backstories. The interactions between characters feel natural and often reveal hidden depths, making the narrative more engaging. Additionally, the game subtly incorporates elements of tension and intrigue, as players must discern motives and uncover secrets while balancing social dynamics within the academy. While Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2 is widely praised for its storytelling and character work, it does have some limitations. Certain sequences may feel repetitive, particularly for players seeking to unlock all achievements or explore every narrative branch. The lack of combat or more varied gameplay mechanics might also be a drawback for players accustomed to action-heavy games. However, for those who enjoy thoughtful, story-driven experiences, these aspects are secondary to the rich narrative and character interactions. Overall, Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 2 offers a captivating blend of science fiction, character-driven storytelling, and strategic decision-making. Its engaging plot, immersive environments, and well-developed cast make it a standout title for fans of narrative adventure games. The game rewards careful exploration, attentive dialogue choices, and a willingness to engage with the story’s layered mysteries, providing a memorable and emotionally resonant journey through the Galactic Union Academy. Rating: 9/10

While the original Space Pilgrim games largely took place one after the other, the first two being the sole exception, the Academy games have sizable gaps between them to accommodate for each school year. This allows for events to brew between entries, giving weight to the end of each. It's also good for showing that the students are developing stronger bonds with both their classmates and teachers. As is often the case with larger casts, Year 1 focused a lot on introducing everyone and show basic interactions. Now that the story can shift towards character development, it's really enjoyable to see how the friendships and bonds are growing. This isn't exclusive to the Academy portions of the game, either, as Gail also has to do a bit of growing this time around. How she handles the situations before her is part of what makes all of this so interesting. We also get a nice taste of how the diplomatic relations are handling within the universe of Space Pilgrim. I always appreciate it when writers are allowed to flesh out the entire setting. Although I really enjoyed the classes in the previous game, Year 2 takes a different approach. You have two major classes, one focusing on the Galactic Union and the other on surviving a holodeck scenario. Both give us a taste of what it's like to make difficult choices and thinking from different perspectives. I kind of wish there had been a third such class. On the other hand, you have to scroll through a lot of text to repeat those two activities (mainly the set-up), so my discovering that you can hold down Z or X and advance text rapidly was heavily appreciated. My main dislike from Year 1, that the place feels largely deserted... still kind of holds true. I do not recall ever having to go to the Train Station even once, and the Hanger was only to initiate a single event. There was really only two times where you had any reason to go exploring the school, though that could have been due to the increased focus on Gail's part of the story. I can sympathize with that situation, but it'd still be nice to see some more bustling at the school. Despite that, however, it's still a great story and I look forwards to playing the next!

Nice game, enjoyable series. Simple yet fun adventure. Soooome grind if you are trying to do all the achievements, which means going back and replaying. It would be nice to have a way of escaping/bypassing cut-scenes (or of saving in the middle). (Note that I have the same review for all the games in the series. They were all pretty fun in a low-key way.)
Nota 5/10. Recomendo!
The story continues with Gail and Maggie in Year 2. Gail continues to juggle her responsibilities as Chancellor with her own internal investigations. Maggie uncovers more details of her friends' pasts and herself. As their enemies begin to reveal themselves, their lives start to intertwine with each other closer than ever before. Other than a couple of bugs at the beginning in 2.0, it was a smooth ride from there. Looking forward to Year 3.
A continuation of the adventure story from Space Pilgrim Academy: Year 1, and a sequel from The Space Pilgrim Saga. one of the rpgmaker games that consider to have a good story, highly recommended.
This story really keeps me wanting more and more!
