Love the game. I am a huge fan of Heroes 3 Might and Magic and this one gives a very similar experience. Magic mechanic is pretty unique. The only thing, I find tactics a bit simplified as there is no wait/defend option. I really enjoy the art - Frog fraction is the best. Stories are simple but solid - they are pleasant to play and feel like an adventure. I'm looking forward to seeing other games in this universe!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The art style, music and overall ambiance and feel makes this a very cozy and magical experience. Thanks for making it! Especially love the controller and Steam Deck support.
There's some good ideas and lots of content but overall, this game is a miss. It's "old school" in all the wrong ways -- clunky interface that desperately needs quality of life features mixed with muddy graphics that make it hard to parse what map features are decorative versus interactive. The difficulty curve is also all over the place where "normal" difficulty will have you building up for many turns before you can possibly fight /any/ of the enemies nearby. I really wanted to like this but it was not to be.
This game isn't worth full price. Beautiful artwork and decent combat, but overall the game is very shallow. There isn't all that much variation between different units beyond race/melee/ranged and their tier. Near every mission plays the same, and the magic system is boring. Also, you spend more time micromanaging your settlements and commanders than fighting in the late game.
I played the game of the third difficulty setting out of four. So this game is taking a lot of influence from HoMM3, which is nice, I really like that game so seeing something similar but new is always a positive. That said, I was drawing comparisons to HoMM3 while playing a lot and generally felt that the old classic is better. Overall I think it Songs of Conquest is a game with simplified systems, it was worth giving it a try but I got bored before I reached the end of the second campaign (out of four) and kinda forced myself to play into the middle of the third campaign just to see if the game has something more to offer. I'm not planning to play it any more than that. One big issue I run into while playing is how powerful ranged units are in SoC. I think the devs wanted to balance out the way they were in HoMM3 (very strong units with the combat oriented around protecting them) by giving a limit to how many units you can have in a stack, but thanks to that I ended up just filling my armies with as many stacks of ranged units as possible and going through every combat with ease. The magic system is simple. It's just a few spells but most of them are fun and not too repetitive (though there are a lot of "deal x damage" spells that just do the same but with a different number). The units are interesting, each has a look that stands out, but they don't have too many abilities and with a very small battlefield it makes the combat rather simple and just boring after some time? The game offers a quick battle option where you just see the result that you can accept or do the battle yourself. I get why it's there, but I think it defeats the purpose of the game cause it just plays itself at this point. Exploring the world map is pretty confusing. While it's clear what's clickable, it's not explained what each structure does and the unhelpful tooltip sometimes just doesn't show up on hover at all. I ended up just clicking through everything that could be visited multiple times. The towns are probably the most interesting part of the game, each town you conquer is very flexible with what you can build in them, you can also demolish the buildings which means you can have some more economy-oriented buildings in the back and unit production buildings close to your front lines (or vice versa, it's a mix and match system). There's also a building that allows you to buy units from every other town you have so you don't have to move your heroes through the entire map for a restock. The music is amazing, you can check it on youtube I think. Honestly it's one of these where I recommend just buying a soundtrack instead of playing. The writing is very shallow and just uninteresting, The plot is very similar to that of HoMM3: Shadow Of Death and that's not actually a problem, but the game attempts to tell this story in the most mundane way possible. A lot of the dialogues seem more like they're concepts for what's supposed to be there rather than something that would make the player interested in what comes next. Oh right, and you can play the campaigns in any order you want which means they can't provide you a consistent experience from start to finish because every campaign had to be adapted to a person playing it before the rest! Least to say, I didn't like having to do two tutorial missions every four levels. Yes, because each campaign has only four levels. Forcing an order would make it a much better experience.
