Updated weekly (Week 20 update just arrived!)

Tether: Curse of Slimus is launching in Early Access with a complete core gameplay loop and a tightly scoped world designed for rapid iteration and expansion. The current version is fully playable, optimized, and focused on refining combat, progression, and system interactions through real player feedback.
Throughout Early Access, I plan on continuing to grow with new maps, mechanics, minigames, bosses, and world systems. Development is guided by a public roadmap, and updates will steadily expand the world toward a more connected, semi–open structure.

Reviews
I saw this game on a Facebook reel ad, and love the premise and pixel art so I've bought into the Early Access. This game definitely has potential, and you can easily tell how many hours the solo indie developer has put into the game. From the battle mechanics, 3 job types (currently), skill trees, loot, crafting, runes (upgrading equipment), distinct enemy AI (spellcasters and archers try to maintain a distance from you shooting spells and arrows while the melee enemies engage you), even the wider world factions and politics, there's more to it than you'd think. The game is basically split into traversing the plains hunting mobs, looting and levelling up your Slimus, and entering the arena to fight the Explorers/Heroes with increasing difficulty after every level you win. It's a very pick-up and play game, with the mob hunting mission limited to only 3 minutes each run, so you can easily stop and continue anytime. Evidently this game is still in very early stage, but hopefully the developer will flesh it out with more areas and content in time. I'd love to have procedurally-generated areas to explore instead of the same maps (I'm old enough to have played the classic Castle of the Winds), but maybe that'll come! I've played the game on both PC and Steam Deck, and happy to say it works very well on either platform.

Works well on SteamDeck. It’s fun but repetitive in its current form and very little explanation/tutorial. I would support purchasing it, especially if you’re looking for something you can pick up and put down whenever. Keen to see more areas before more “features” to reduce the repetition fatigue of only 2 real areas.
