Very Good, hopefully there is a better tournament system coming otherwise the gameplay loop gets a bit repetetive,

Gameplay feels very good and I had a fun time with every battle I played, overall I think this games has the bones of a very great roguelike, but while I did have fun and do still give it a thumbs up it has some pretty big issues As others have said the power cube mechanic kinda makes or breaks your matches. It doesn't necessarily decide the match instantly or anything but I think they appear too often and last too long to make it a balanced mechanic, especially when whoever gets it is kinda just up to who is on what side of the arena when it spawns. It wasnt difficult really, even not knowing how exactly any of the mechanics worked I beat the game in like 30 minutes and only lost one or two matches. It doesnt look like there was any time limit but I could be wrong, but I spent a good few days on the quarter finals without ever feeling any pressure to get them done fast. Really I think just a bit of a longer experience and pacing out your available head and body pieces to not possibly give you a busted toolset early on would go a long way. But hey its not even 5 bucks on steam, so its hard to say I feel ripped off or anything
It's not a good game. It's not a great game. But it is fun nonetheless. For those of us who grew up with Beyblade, this game fills a sort-of itch that we didn't know we had, because game-wise the Beyblade IP has been pretty much dead for many years. Slayblade is kind of a joke game on the concept of Beyblade, but it gives you everything you need. Battles, check. Lots of parts to choose from, check. Weird challenges, check. Considering the price of the game, I honestly can't not recommend it. There are a ton of weird challenges, meaning this tiny, linear game actually branches out and has a lot more replay value than you'd think. So to put all that into a number, I'm giving Slayblade a 7/10. It doesn't blow your socks off, but it keeps you interested for 20-30 minutes at a time. Easy to relax with on a day-to-day basis.
This game feels like a walking DMCA that's about to transpire
TLDR: is game is okay fun at the price but it has quite a few issues that prevented me from enjoying it. your money is better spent somewhere else. 1. the game is really shallow without a lot of gameplay depth. the different parts often don't make enough of a difference. 2. desired run modifiers for certain achievements are just straight up not fun. there are a lot of modifiers but the ones selected and put together often just make the game miserable. 3. the game often doesn't register successful runs. 4. the obvious left leaning political notes are really annoying and unnecessary and ruin the charm that the humor might have had otherwise. leave woke crap out of games. 5. runs feel extremely similar with the same pitfalls ruining most of your runs despite modifiers.
FIrst and foremost, I had a lot of fun with the demo and almost instantly went to go buy the game when I completed it. However as some people have mentioned the full game is a bit lacking at the moment, and you can kinda get the whole idea of the gameplay if you just play the demo. If they are going to add more content in the future, I would absolutely love that and would come back to play more, but as other people have said it does kinda run out of stuff to do pretty quick. The movement and combat itself feels pretty good as a base, and I do think refining the game more would give for a fantastic little experience to pop open from time to time. Things like making the overworld map easier to see everywhere at once, changing the language UI at the beginning to be a bit more clear (Put "confirm" or something instead of close), adding more minigames like the lawn mowing (I loved this idea!), and just other ways to use the top's movement in general as it's fun to just sit in the main menu knocking things over. As it stands, the price is a little steep for the lack of satisfying replayability. I could see this being a 99C game on an iphone 10 years ago, but I don't mean that disparagingly. It feels like something that should have a satisfying gameplay loop that I can pull up on my phone while I'm on the go for a few games, and it is something I would play on my phone if there was a more expanded version with more to do. I also think it would lend itself quite well to touch controls or even gyro, and if the devs have any plans on doing a mobile build I think it might be worth going that route instead of steam. I wish steam let me give a more refined answer than "do I recommend this game" because I don't really recommend it for the price, but I do recommend people give the demo a try because I do find the concept to be good and a lot of elements fun.
short review: this game has some potential and is fun. long review: the game is running so poorly that its jittering all the time, no tutorial, the way to progress through "dialogue" is hold click? the parts and the mechanics are just not very clear. What is an aura? what do auras do? if a aura has no listed effect, what is the point of it? wait till its in a more refined and stable state to play imo
