It’s been a while since I played the game, but I remember getting it after watching some people playing it on YouTube. I saw the game had multiple endings based on your choices, so I decided to play it for myself. I think the jumpscares and horror elements of the game were done really well. I remember yelping and getting spoken by a loud noise or a nasty jump scare. I had a family member ask if I was alright after one of the jumpscares, as I literally fell over in my chair from the shock. Granted my desk chair was missing some wheels at the time, so that didn’t help, but still. I haven’t played a Horror game since that made me retreat so much I fell over. Great Game. I look back on it, and I can only remember the jumpscares and eerier feeling I had while playing it, so it did it’s job well.
It's quite fun! It can be quite funny too! I didn't get a good ending though :(

Anna is a worm, a weak individual that only laments.

The story was nothing if not cliché. The concept of a found phone game is cool, or perhaps was at the time of release, but everything else surrounding this concept left me quite underwhelmed. So many of the characters are creeps, and I find out I got the bad ending for not helping out either of the creeps continue their creep life. This game also falls into the pitfall of any visual novel type game, it feels stricly linear and there doesn't feel like theres much you can do to change the outcome of the game. Of course this isn't entirely true; there are mutliple endings. But the steps you have to take to get the endings are either vague or require you to work with the aforementioned creeps to save a woman who shouldn't be placed in these creeps crosshairs. Also what's the message of this game, that putting on an online persona is bad? Sure, maybe, but we see one character using a persona to her benefit? Is it that forming relationships online is bad? Sure, they can be. But again; there are benefits to forming relationships online too. The main villian of the game, if you could call it that, doesn't really have a solid theme. Is it AI? Something paranormal? Eldritch horror? A mix of them all plus more? Even with this in mind, why make it a supernatural entity? Why can't the villian just be a normal guy, like what happens in real life. It feels like meta commentary for meta commentary sake. This is the kind of game I suspect would do well in a youtuber letsplay, it's something to be watched and commentated on. I suspect this because I only really had fun with this game because I was playing it with my friends. As for the "horror" aspect, its a bit of a joke. Loud noises or random unexpected noises playing at random times - most egregiously "door knocking sfx" Wouldn't reccomend, but its cheap so do as you will.
Played this years ago and remembered loving it, so I decided to replay it.
I cannot recommend this game enough! The sounds in this game will have you questioning if someone is in your room! Freaking loved the story!
Some moments were genuinely unsettling. I felt uneasy because the jumpscares could have appeared on the home screen at any moment.
It was an interesting idea and overall I had some fun playing the game. I won't be playing the ng+ for the different endings though. There were too many things that bothered me: - The constant distractions with new messages coming in while reading something got really annoying at some point - The dialogues were okayish but also cringy and clunky at times - Acting was not good at all. There were a couple of moments that made me cringe like hell - This is about solving puzzles and looking for clues etc. That was too easy. Most of the things were pretty obvious and straight forward. I'm not sure if I would recommend it. Maybe one of the later games in the series but I haven't played them yet so I can't say anything about them.
