About

Build over-the-top combos one move at a time. Position is everything, and most moves chain into the next if your timing is right. See how far you can carry the chain!
Line up your Big Swing so the impact carries to enemies behind your target
Launch a target skyward, juggle them in midair, then slam them back into the ground
Trade your own HP to push the combo into the next target when the current one is incapacitated.
Finish with a full-screen attack that shreds every enemy caught in the chain

Mino is more than a cute face. He's your combo partner, and the chain lives or dies on when you tag him in.
Call Mino in for a Nose Launch to send your target rocketing skyward
Use Dig to claw a downed enemy back up so the combo can keep running
Mix in Fetch and Fling, where Mino snatches an enemy out of midair and throws them wherever you point

Earn skill points as you level up and spend them across the skill tree to learn new moves or sharpen the ones you already have.
Spend you skill points on Signy's moves, Mino's tricks, or your defenses
Unlock Combo Extend to chain more skills into a single combo
Befriend a washed-up warrior who'll teach you tricks no one else can

A volcanic explosion masks a much more sinister problem: Auger, the short-tempered god of rock and magma, has been reborn with an axe to grind. Take on the burden of being the only one who can face him.
Stand against Auger, freshly clawed out of his rest in the mountain
Join forces with other fallen gods and washed-up warriors as the world catches fire
Discover your own hidden powers as the conflict pulls you in deeper

A really fresh and unique take on the "action" turn-based combat. The only downside is that the game ends. I need a bigger, longer version of this ASAP
This isn't a bad game at all, it's actually pretty solid, but there's simply not enough here to really justify the price. It's a 5hr RPG that costs 17 bucks. Story and writing range from "ehhh" to serviceable. Visuals look nice but you can tell the game was a tad rushed because some PLOT CRITICAL npcs don't even have a walking animation and just slide around. The world is very very small and doesn't really feel that alive or lived in. Combat is absolutely the highlight but there's really nothing interesting at all combo theory wise. Most moves can link into other moves with little pushback. Like the only rules for chaining is that you need to have enough moves left in the combo (you can see this at all times), and each move needs to land a hit on the opponent before the game lets you pause and select the next move to chain to. While there are some moves that can only hit grounded/airborne opponents, or otherwise have an actual hitbox that prevents complete button mashing, it's still ultimately trivial. All moves have auto-aim/movement, so even if your chararcter is all the way on the ground and the enemy is at the top of the screen, you can still chain into an aerial move because your character just teleports in front of the airborne enemy and executes the attack flawlessly. Overall I appreciate the Paper Mario inspired aesthetic and an ARPG with fighting game-esque combat, but it's hard to recommend because both of those things aren't really novel anymore. Several indie games in the past few years have had that mario aesthetic with longer run times, solid combat, and more engaging narratives. Many JRPGs starting from the 90s have played around with having fighting game style action combat, so that's not really a new idea (and I personally believe franchises such as the Tales Of series execute this type of gameplay exceedingly well.).

A spiritual successor to Paper Mario with an Australian Shepherd. The game has a lot going for it: a solid combo system, great art direction, a granny that will beat the hell out of you. It's certainly worth the opening price for those on the fence. It allows a degree of modification of abilities. It encourages exploration (mostly). There are a few downsides. Chiefly, the difficulty. I haven't yet beaten the game so idk if there's something to change there, but it's extremely easy overall. Parry nullifies everything, and the window for it is frankly too large. There's no reason to upgrade any other defense. There's also a chance to get stuck in level geometry and lose progress. You can only save at certain points, which is perfectly fine in itself. The issue is if you hop into the wrong spot, you're soft-locked and have to reload. I lost 25 minutes of gameplay after hopping on the far side of a vase on Althea Island that it tells you to hop on. A simple unstuck button could fix this, or perhaps in time the developer will fix these spots. That said, the pros vastly outweigh the cons and I happily recommend this. Get it while the discount is hot!
While beta testing the game was already fun. Buy the game --- it's even more fun now on release!

There is going to be a lot of criticism here but so I want to clarify that I loved this game. This is the second game ever where I have been so excited for a game that I bought it the day it released. I was worried that combat would get boring but they constantly introduce new mechanics and enemy abilities that keep it interesting most of the way through. My biggest criticism is that I was mostly just expecting more. While I don’t regret it, $16 is a little higher than I would have expected for a game of this length. It’s also fairly easy. I never died, and the only time I almost did was because I kept switching targets which cost me my health. On the topic of that, the fact switching targets costs health never really made sense to me. It didn’t feel like a deterrent, nor did I feel like I was risking much by doing it. Parries also are too strong, I thought I would need to combine jumps and parries but they just counter everything. The timing on them is very lenient as well. The final boss especially was a bit lackluster, as I wasn’t even sure if the game was over at that point. Its main gimmick is quite underwhelming and doesn’t really change much of anything, so I did pretty much the same combo each move with maybe a different starting 2 moves. This was the only time the combat felt a little boring. Overall the game was pretty fun. I would probably tell my past self to wait for a discount if I was considering buying it.
really fun and fresh take on the rpg combat style and like that there are a bunch of movies that can combo into each other. My only Con is that its very forgiving on the combo timing and i found the games overall difficulty to be very easy, but i would still recommend it because it was fun
A few hours in, and I'm absolutely hooked. The story is well written, the art approach is crisp, clean, and gentle on the eyes, and the soundtrack is really well made. The gameplay, though, is SUPER fun. the amount of thought that had to go into figuring out how to get the combos to work together is mind breaking if you think too much about it - it's fluid, complex, and allows you to continuously beat the ever living garbage out of enemies in very interesting ways. I'm almost 3 hours in and already look forward to seeing how the story unfolds. An absolute STEAL at this price point, too. Highly Recommend if you want something fresh in the RPG world.
fun little indie game!
Just finished my full playthrough of the game and wow! The gameplay was always fun and progressive, the artwork was great, the story was interesting enough, and the ending was pretty satisfying! I was waiting for this game to come out for a while and it did not disappoint!
