Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 8.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

You would think that the repackaged and upgraded version of the game would include all the demons, right? Thankfully, Atlus continues to surpass everyone's expectations and once again lock the best demons in the game behind paid DLC (just like they did with the original SMT V!). Atlus proves that they have learned nothing from their failures with V because Vengeance still suffers from the boring environments, painfully bad story, and unrewarding endings that base V did. In Vengeance's story, Yoko is completely hamfisted into almost every cutscene and has nothing to say other than "hm... but the world is bad!", even when it is completely inappropriate to do so. I beat both Creation of Canon and Creation of Vengeance, Demi-Fiend, Shiva, and Satan just to see what was good about this game. After 80 or so hours, all I can say positive about this game is that the gameplay is quite nice, but becomes repetitive once you gain Murakumo, and that demon fusing/collecting demons in this game is quite nice. 5/10 I'd rather kick rocks on the side of the road.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Sadly, this one just didn't stick with me. From the MC being a zero-personality twink to the world itself, I found very little here that kept me invested. I actually enjoyed playing SMT III, so I came into Vengeance expecting one of the strongest turn-based RPGs out there. Instead, I ended up feeling pretty bored. The biggest problem for me is the world. It's a huge, empty open world filled with collectibles and side quests that rarely feel meaningful. You run into demons and quest NPCs that seem completely clueless, and most of the side content has little to no story behind it. It feels like the open world exists mainly to give you things to collect rather than to actually build a world worth exploring. The story doesn't help either. The whole Heaven vs Hell, angels vs demons thing feels incredibly edgy and predictable, like it was written by Japanese devs who think Heaven and Hell are the edgiest concepts imaginable. Even the music didn't really work for me, with some tracks feeling more cringe than memorable. I also really disliked the DLC.... especially the Tears DLC. Giving you resources that make the game significantly easier completely kills the sense of progression and makes a lot of the exploration and rewards feel pointless. When the game is supposed to be built around challenging turn-based combat and progression, making that progression trivial feels completely counterproductive. Even the demons themselves didn't impress me as much as I expected. The combat is solid, but the presentation, effects, monster designs, and overall gameplay loop didn't give me the feeling that I was playing some "legendary" turn-based RPG. Vengeance feels like a game that could have been much better with a little more focus. Give the story and characters even 5% more effort, remove the empty open-world padding, and make exploration actually meaningful, and I think this could have been something special. Unfortunately, for me, it was a total miss. I came expecting an amazing gameplay-focused RPG and ended up with a game that felt empty, repetitive, and unrewarding.
My first game from the SMT mainline games. It was fun and I enjoyed the gameplay far more than the Persona™ games. The combat was electric and I was genuinely struggling in the end and it was a blast. The demon designs are super cool and this is their best look imo. This game has the worst story I have ever played, it is so boring and lifeless. If they had just cut all dialogue out of the game and it would have been more enjoyable. It is so boring I would get up to leave mid cutscene because this main cast interacting with each other makes me want to glue sandpaper under my eyelids. Atlus has done good silent protags in the past but this one is not good. The side characters are terrible, the only one I had any sort of interest in was Yoko and she disappears midgame. Im going to turn Ricardo V into a smoking pair of shoes. The story is so so so bad but the gameplay is probably my favorite turn based game ive ever played. Hopefully this was just a one off and the rest of the series is awesome. -Sent from my HeehooDeck™
I don't love it but there are a lot to like about this game. The music, especially the ones from battles are insanely good. If you've played SMTIV and liked that industrial esque sound and aggresive synths, they're here as well. Demons and characters are finally in 3D with unique animations and in my opinion, this is one of the most impressive part of the game as an evolution from previous entries. Demon interactions are as good as ever, snappy, charmful, witty. Demon fusion received some polishes that combined with "Miracles" you can learn making it easier to craft the specific demon build that you wish. I don't like how cumbersome it is to switch between menus on the shop and world of shadows, though. They could have made it switch-through with say, shoulder buttons like R1 and L1 but instead I have to go back and forth between sub-menus. I don't like the Demon Haunt feature, as well. I like the concept but the execution felt like the dev just want the feature to be there so you can get items from demon allies and them level up from unclear "chemistry", it's boring, sorry. I don't like how the open world aspect was done in this, mainly because how lifeless the world feels after the novelty wears off. I much prefer how SMTIII did it as a world map because it's simpler and faster. I don't like the characters and I feel like the game failed to make me care about them. Look, SMT is combat focused and all, I know, but frankly there's no reason for me to go about all this adventure. SMTIII had me go into a hospital with friends to look for our teacher and then the world got flipped inside out. Why the comparison? Because the game is explicitly a succesion + homage to Nocturne. Not my fault for finding inferiorities and calling them out. Definitely felt like a game that went through a dose of development hell to me (as if the concept of the Vengeance edition hasn't made it clear enough). I hope SMTVI steals from IV or Strange Journey if ATLUS is hell bent on not creating entirely new plots and worlds. Or just anything that doesn't have a 10+ hours of sand dunes on the opening act. Also, multiplatform re-release should come with better texture resolutions. The ones on uniforms and rocks are just embarassing for a full priced re-release. Do better. Tried both CoC and CoV route, unfinished both as you can see my hours played. Will come back later after a break. If you find similarities on aspects you don't like in a game from my review, I don't recommend this game. ATLUS catalog is quite massive so play something else instead. This is not ATLUS at their best.

Best thing ever
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

4/10
