Reawaken your inner demon in a modernized version of the acclaimed ATLUS classic, Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

It is a great game, but this PC port is broken in a fundamental way. It randomly corrupts save files. Saving in different slots will not work because they are all saved as part of the same file. The only way to mitigate this is by manually backing up your save. Atlus has not solved these bugs in years, and has left community members to fix these problems themselves, rather than applying updates. To add insult to injury, the game requires you to download free packs off of its Steam page to unlock the Labyrinth of Amala and True Demon ending, alongside Raido Kuzunoha. The extra dungeons and Dante are paid DLC that costs around $15, which is messed up, as all of this should have been offered as part of a single package to make things convenient. For these reasons, I cannot recommend the SMT III: Nocturne HD Remaster on PC. You are 100% better off emulating the game. After playing it for 20 hours, reinstalling it and deleting my save file, I cannot get it to work...
Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne is one of my favorite games of all time, the soundtrack, this janky, unforgiving yet satisfying gameplay is one of the most fun things to be ever made in a jrpg. This HD version though, as every other fan says, is an absolute scam, it needs mods to be okay to play, it disrespects the original game and kills a lot of its genius, do not buy this game, please yar yar it.
The game is great but the port is awful. It requires modding just to have an uncompressed audio, which is shameful from Atlus. They also managed to destroy the ambience and the lighting of the oriignal (which, again, can be modded) and that's a design choice, a very, very, very bad design choice. Insult to injury they didn't care to remake the cinematics so, in certain points of the game, you can see the level in the cinematic with the right colors and lights and you can see the astonishing difference of quality. This is a direct contender with P3P on Steam on the lazy overpriced ports championship. Buy only if you can't play the original on ps2\3. For the newcomers of the franchise, personal suggestion, do NOT start with this one. Try a Persona or DDS if you can, this is a very difficult game for a first dive into the franchise, more so if you are new to heavy dungeon crawlers.
Good game, unfortunately I can't play it consistently. When I try to start the game it often gives an error: "Sorry, something went wrong. For solutions please visit:" followed by a URL to a page that contains no solutions, just a picture with the title of the game. Some web searching suggests that it's a problem with some kind of online verification system("Denuvo"), but regardless of why, unplayable game means negative review. Stay away.
良いゲームだね
This game is harsh and unrelenting at times, but is one of the most fun experiences I've ever had. The atmosphere this game gives is unmatched. From the OST to the visuals, this game gets it down perfectly. One of the classics of JRPG's for sure. As a remaster though, this kinda blows. The "True Demon Ending" being locked behind a free DLC made me completely miss it on my first playthrough round which was a kick in the teeth after playing for 40 hours. The music being the compressed versions from the PS2 and the FPS being capped to 30 didn't help either. 9/10 Game, 4/10 remaster lol
If you dont have mental issues stay away from this game, this game wants you to be stupid enough to solve the puzzles or figure out where you have to go, but you also have to be albert einstein to survive the boss fights, quality of life to this game is like a made up thing that doesn't exist, oh yeah and there's a f-ton of labyrinths with some of them rendering your map useless. But the atmosphere, some of the story elements and most of all, the demon pokemon hunting had me hooked. Overall i hated this game, 10/10
Phenomenal JRPG. If you've finished the modern Persona trilogy and still want more, this game is a great place to start with mainline SMT. I'd say this PC port is worth it over emulation because it adds voice acting, selective fusion inheritance and keyboard support. Past that, pretty much nothing is different. A couple things to note:

When starting a new game, make sure to start on either New Game - Chronicle or New Game - Maniax. A lot of the game's content is locked behind picking one of these versions. Both versions are nearly identical, but Maniax adds Dante as a bonus character whereas Chronicle adds Raidou Kuzunoha.
This is barely a remaster at all and more of a PC port. This is one of those rare cases where they played it so safe as a remaster to not upset fans that the end result ends up feeling dated. You'll need some mods to actually remaster it, and luckily they're not too hard to install. I recommend looking up a guide on how to mod it, but I personally used this guide, alongside HD Audio and MSAA Override.
At $50/$70, I would absolutely NOT recommend buying the game at these prices. Wait for a sale before buying, it commonly goes on sale for $14.99 for the base game or $17.49 for the deluxe edition with all DLC.
There are 5 DLCs for this game, 2 being free. None of the paid DLCs are required to get the full experience, and are mostly nice-to-haves.

Maniax Pack - Adds the Dante route to the game.
Chronicle Pack - Adds the Raidou route to the game.
Merciful Difficulty - Easy mode
Mercy and Expectation Map Pack - 2 optional grinding dungeons with no story relevance meant to save time for grinding XP/macca.
SMT BGM Pack - Cosmetic music pack
Overall, great game with hard gameplay and an engaging story!
