Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Puzzle boy took advantage of my innate gullibility :(
The game is (mostly) not fun. I liked the overall game vibe, but the story is nothing special. The bosses are nice, but you have extensively grind through the obnoxious and annoying random encounters with random demons. Sure, there are mods that disable the encounters, but then you can't get enough xp to get stronger. I stopped playing the game after so many hours when I finally understood that I'm not enjoying myself, but rather, doing a chore. I recommend playing this game only if you've played everything else newer from Atlus repertoire, and want to see how most of the new stuff started. Or, to feel the game vibe, just play it until you beat the cool Spanish skeleton. After it there's not much of something different. Otherwise, don't bother.
Good game, mid characters and story. Music is alright, combat is great
I'M THE BUG INSIDE YOU
SMT III Nocturne (No spoiler review) I don't know why I love this game; it constantly abuses me and beats me up, and is straight up unfair most of the time. Sometimes this game won't even give you a single turn before killing you; sometimes the enemies get infinite turns and then they kill you. The teleporting dungeons are a pain in the ass, navigating even normal dungeons are a pain in the ass, hell the game doesn't even tell you where to go. You're supposed to figure it out yourself and backtrack multiple stages many times throughout the game, without the game even giving you a hint on where to go. The minigames takes hours upon hours, a specific boss straight up spams a full heal move whenever he feels like it; this game treats me like ♥♥♥♥, yet I still love it. The atmosphere is unmatched, unlike anything I've ever felt or seen, even when compared to RE2R. I am not the biggest fan of the story, notably because I am not a fan of minimalist styles of storytelling. However, Nocturne does what base SMT V (NOT VENGEANCE) failed to do and honestly I think the story is a strong 7 to a light 8. Nocturne relies almost entirely on its atmosphere, world-building, and demon personality for its story and for it tries to be, it excels. Nocturne's combat is the first iteration of the Press-Turn system to my knowledge, and it kind of shows. Don't get me wrong, the combat is still pretty fun and requires you to use your brain, especially with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game pulls up its sleeve to abuse you. However, due to being the first iteration of the Press-Turn system, a lot of features are missing, and that's honestly fine. If I were to rank it compared to other ATLUS games, it would go Press Turn (SMT 5) > One More (P5R) > Press Turn (SMT 3). As expected of an ATLUS game, the soundtrack is magnificent and that's to be expected because ATLUS never misses with their music. It features some of my favorite songs from Megaten, and they are also very catchy. Most people were complaining about the compressed music, but honestly, it only enhances the atmosphere for me and I'm glad they kept it that way. Definitely get the Maniax DLC with Dante in it because he's infinitely better than Raidou (in both character and animations in game). I would not recommend this as your first experience with an ATLUS game; play the modern Persona trilogy and its spinoffs, SMT V, and Metaphor Refantazio instead before you play this. I say this because this game would be incredibly hard to get into for a newcomer, mostly due to its mercilessness and lack of a proper story. The game just throws you in, doesn't tell you where to go, and that sometimes requires hours of backtracking without a guide. Moreover, while this game has aged incredibly well, the age still shows in various aspects of the game. I would only play this game if you were a huge fan of the Megaten franchise (which I am) and wanted more. Overall, I really enjoyed this game despite its flaws and age; I really think anyone who is a huge fan of Megaten has to experience this. SMT III Nocturne is like an abusive husband you have Stockholm Syndrome towards, and for that reason I'm feeling a strong 8 out of 10 on it.
This is my holy grail when it comes to monster collecting games. One of the best games ever made, and possibly my fav game. The port could be a little better, but the game itself is a 20/10. I love SMT3, and def recommend it to everyone.
