About

Shards of Order is a dark fantasy RPG that throws out the rulebook for deckbuilding & card-based combat. There are no turns and no mana points. Every enemy acts on a visible countdown, and every card you play winds those counters down, shifting the whole flow of the fight. Time is your most valuable resource. Misjudge, and your team is sure to crumble.
Master the art of shared deckbuilding; there are three heroes, but only one set of cards. Every card you add affects the drawing odds. Will you build around one main hero and stack the deck in their favor, or spread the strength across the whole party and keep everyone in the fight?
Reality is coming apart. The ancient Laws that once held life, death, and time in place have been stolen or shattered. What’s left is a world where identity fractures and the dead refuse to stay buried. A handful of survivors set out to put it back together, one broken Law at a time. You’re their leader, and restoring Order is up to you – If you find it worth saving.
Play as three distinct characters, each with multiple playstyles, their own skill trees, and a personal arc. This is a full RPG underneath the cards: level up, customize equipment, make dialogue choices, and pass skill checks. Weapons and armor aren't just stat sticks. They define each hero's playstyle and can even inject unique cards straight into your shared deck, so every gear decision is also a deckbuilding decision. Layer the right gear across all three and your party starts working like one organism.
The time counter system is the heart of combat in Shards of Order. Each enemy shows exactly when it will act next, and each card you play pushes those moments closer or further away. You're not reacting turn by turn, but rather managing a clock for your entire party at once. One mistimed card can unravel the whole fight, so every move is a calculation. Three unique regions and a roster of handcrafted boss fights will push your time mastery to the limit.
As you scavenge a dying world, you recover the lost Laws that once governed it. But restoration comes at a cost. Each Law you bring back draws the eye of the all-seeing God a little closer. In your darkest moments, they will offer a helping hand, and you're free to take it. But be warned: they are known for their mischief…
Now, embark on this journey through ruin, where every decision leaves a scar, and every scar becomes part of your story.
There is no more Order. Only what you are strong enough to bring back.

Really nice so far. The musical score is incredible (especially at the beginning of the game), the art looks cool with some nice monster designs, especially for the bosses. It plays a lot like Slay the Spire except it's not a roguelite (so refreshing) and you control three characters with each their own cards. I was a little scared with the time system as it's something I usually dislike in Slay the Spire when a combat features it but it actually works really well here. The game requires to think a little more, some fights almost feels like a puzzle. It's hard but it lets you "cheat" with some prayer to the gods so you can at least get your way to the bad ending if you're not too skilled :) The beginning is a little tough but the more you progress in the game, the more options you have so it kinda get easier. If you're stuck, you can always respec your skills (unlocked cards), equipments and redo your entire deck at any point which is nice as you can try different stuff with no penalty. The checkpoint system is a little weird and can sometimes be annoying but it mostly works. I guess you could technically soft lock yourself if you play very poorly? Not really sure. Some encounters are more on the fun size and it's refreshing to play them, like some fights will make you play unique characters (with new cards), or a single one of yours, mining mini-games and stuff like that are played like a card battle... The story and lore are intringuing, with good writing (unlike this review). The different characters are interesting and it's fun to discover that weird universe with unknown and weird rules and twists that you discover as you progress.

Shards of Order me ha encantado. Please, devs, translate it into spanish. It´s a wonderful game.
solid and interesting game, worth the money and I enjoyed it. Nice twists
Desde luego un juegazo. Lo unico negativo el idioma español y en parte el equilibrio
This is a great, atmospheric deck-building game. Yes, you have to change your build sometimes, but that is what deck builders are all about. Highly recommended!
I very much enjoyed Shards of Order and am quite satisfied with my purchase, but since you are reading reviews here is what you need to know to judge if it's a good fit. 1) Playtime: For me it was 34 hours while achieving 100% of the steam achievements. If you take the easier route in the game than I did then it'll probably be shorter. 2) Core gameplay is a deck builder where new cards are unlocked or improved via a skill tree that can be re-specced at any time for free coupled with passive bonuses from equipment that meaningfully impact the way the deck plays. The deck is a combined deck with cards from 3 characters and there are some light tactical elements during fights. 3) Challenge level: this game is tough, giving some souls-like vibes. Without prior game knowledge you are going to fail often. However death isn't penalized in any way. The game expects you to change up your equipment and deck to fight packs with new mechanics. 4) Setting: Dark fantasy apocalyptic interspersed with some zany humor here and there. The decisions feel somewhat meaningful, but it isn't clear what you are picking always and the save mechanic is auto-save checkpoints. Most of the content cannot be skipped.
Love the game! Really cool card battler. Story is very impressive and I love the voice actor that also did the main character from space marine. Feels very fitting since this is also a very grim dark setting. Artworks are beautiful as well. Bunch of moments where your choices impact the lives of characters and the way your party responds to you. 100% worth the price. I'm kinda used to doing A10 StS2 runs so that is what I would call pretty difficult when it comes to card battlers. Difficulty in this game is not that hard but there are challenging moments when you try to get the good ending. Deckbuilding is very fun and you can really do a lot of different approaches. Some fights also require you to purpose build your deck for sure which is a fun challenge. The freedom to redo your whole deck and mess around with different equipment and such is really easy and feels smooth. A lot smoother since the update for the skill tree resets. Wish there was a longer story or more difficulty settings. Maybe a newgame+? Both endings could have the story continue in a very interesting way! Played through the game fully with all sidequests done in 29 hours getting all achievements. Not a very long game, still loads of fun though and feels very unique!
