Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 5.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

couldve been an awesome game. the devs decided to do nothing with it and left it barebones. strong unique foundation with no content updates. all community requests for updates ignored. no communication, just 1-sided devblogs that cement the idea this game is going nowhere. last content update was almost a year ago and barely added anything (modifiers)
It is a good game, especially for the price. However, I don't really see why you would play it more than once (a year?). The updates seem very infrequent and not much is added. One new case type has been added since I last played a year or two ago (kidnapping). Once you've been in a city for long enough every case is instantly solved because your databank is so vast already. This ties into my next point: The fingerprint meta. There seems to be no other feasible way to catch the killers without fingerprints which ends up becoming quite boring after a while. The citizens seem to be locked to 1 piece of evidence they can give about the killer. They usually tell me about the build. The vmails might tell you another feature: hair. And then that's that. Better get to finding that finger print! Also, access to the government databank feels quite lame too, however, very necessary at other times. The controls are extremely janky as well, in my opinion. The game can be quite laggy at times.

Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 618: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆ (8/10) While I haven't played Shadows of Doubt very long, I'm super impressed with what I see so far. It drops you into a fully simulated noir city and basically says, “good luck,” which is either thrilling or mildly overwhelming depending on your tolerance for chaos. So far, I lean toward both. The atmosphere is top-notch: moody, melancholy, detective-y. The stylized pixel style is honestly kinda cute. And the gameplay ... wow. You get some brief instructions on the mechanics in a tutorial case, but you're barely scratching the surface. There's a solid foundation to guide you—you have a cool corkboard system, customizable notes, character sheets, leads, and so on. But for the most part, there's no clear path, no “press X to solve crime” moment. You’re expected to actually think, break into places you probably shouldn’t, read through emails, connect names, and slowly piece together what happened. It’s messy, sometimes confusing, and occasionally janky—but when things click, it feels incredibly rewarding in a way most detective games don’t even attempt. It genuinely feels like you’re solving a case, not completing a checklist.
Pros:
✅ The sandbox design is ridiculously impressive. Every case feels like it exists independently of you, which is rare. I was investigating the tutorial case and entered a cafe. On a bulletin board in the corner of the door, two cases required my expert assistance. So I called up the number on the poster and got lost on a missing item quest! In general, NPCs have schedules, buildings are fully explorable, and information is scattered across the city. You might find a lead in a trash can (happened quite a bit), a note on a desk, or a random coworker who knows just enough to point you somewhere new. You literally have to think, "how would I get this information in real life?" ✅ The immersion and atmosphere. Man, I love how the whole city has this cold, rainy, dystopian noir vibe. Neon lights, cramped apartments, and buzzing offices all feel like something straight out of a movie. It's cool how the devs merged the 1980s with technology. Nothing like being watched on a security cam while looking underneath a stranger's house mat for a key! There's a lot of lore/notes scattered around the world, too. It’s one of those games where the setting does a lot of the storytelling for you. ✅ Freedom of approach. There’s no “correct” way to solve a case. You can go full detective mode, carefully gathering evidence, or just brute-force your way through by breaking into every apartment tied to a suspect. Both approaches work technically. I, for example, decided to pose as a health inspector to investigate a cafe where my suspect last ate at (long story). Another time, I broke into an old woman's house, knocked her out, and robbed her for $$$. That level of flexibility makes each investigation feel personal, even if the underlying systems are procedural.
Mixed:
🟨 The learning curve is real. The game explains the basics, but after that, you’re mostly on your own. Figuring out how to efficiently gather clues, track suspects, and not waste hours chasing dead ends takes time. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it can feel overwhelming early on. There were definitely moments where I sat there thinking, “Okay… what am I even supposed to do next?” 🟨 Jank and rough edges. The ambition here is huge, and you can feel the strain. NPC behavior can be a little off, interactions aren’t always smooth, and sometimes systems don’t communicate clearly with each other.
Cons:
🟥 UI and usability issues. The interface does its job, but not always gracefully. Managing clues, organizing evidence, and navigating menus can feel clunky, especially when you’re juggling a lot of information. In a game this dependent on tracking details, a smoother UI would go a long way. I didn't want to pin every bit of evidence I have, but many times, I found myself trying to remember a receipt I found an hour ago. Sometimes papers will stay pinned on my evidence board, even when I have flipped through them once.
Very fun. As a broke gamer, i'm happy i got this when it was for sale :) Also, I would like to thank CallMe Kevin and Insym for allowing me to discover this game! (Yes. I know im playing this in 2026. And yet, it's still so much fun.)
It's late. Way too late for anyone not running numbers of bonking noggins to be out, yet here I am. I'm a 4'10" gumshoe flipping through post-it notes on a dirty payphone in a burger joint. Haven't slept in days. The memories haunt me, and the only thing that turns them off is enough booze to turn the rest of my lights off. Sadly, it's been a couple of days since that murder case where the vic had a fridge full of booze, and all those happy clinking bottles seem like the jolly theme song of fairytale that's a far better story than my life. Today I'm sitting across from an odd looking man, bright red curly hair and Buddy Holly glasses. I take a long drag from my stogie. "I heard you want him humiliated. Throw food in his face..." Murder cases weren't exactly paying the bills lately. "I can do that. Just tell me who he is." The client hands a briefcase to me, sliding it across the booth. He looks nervous, and who can blame him? Not every day you hire someone like me to devastate someone's ego for a few credits. It's not work I'll be proud of doing, but someone's got to keep the croque monsieurs on the table. Click. Click. The briefcase opens and reveals something I never expected. It's him. Inside the briefcase is a single Polaroid photo of the man who handed me the briefcase. The mark is the client. The client is the mark. We sit silently, staring at each other across the booth. His stare is blank, vacant, as if he had fully disassociated from the entire affair. I give him 30 seconds to change his mind before shrugging my shoulders and rising to my feet. I order a fresh cheeseburger from the restaurant and unceremoniously smack it on his face. He is LIVID, which is a surprise to me because he specifically asked me to do it. Nonetheless, he pulls a gun and starts firing blindly into the diner. Ducking under the booth, I crawl out of the restaurant and hope that the cheeseburger has obscured his vision enough to keep me in one piece. I beat feet, sprinting into an alley and disappearing into the great masses of the city. I stand outside in the rain doing the least favorite part of my job; paperwork. I can hear the drops beating heavy on my fedora as I explain to my diary that a man went to great lengths to arrange for me to throw a hamburger at him, and then tried to kill me for it. A few moments later, a cool $1,100 credits appears in my bank account. My social credit rises. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a good detective, or because I'm willing to entertain this guy's weird kink. Doesn't matter, I guess. There's always another crime happening in this city, and it's my job to solve it... even if I caused it. 10/10
This game has a real bad performance problem, the performance itself is like fine base level, but has MASSIVE stutters out of nowhere. Playing on a 5070, 128gb of ram, with a 24 core cpu, and even that isn't enough even with dlss on lol. The main issue i have with it, is awhile ago when I bought the game, it ran fine without any stuttering? Coming back today and all of a sudden stutters are happening and I can't really play through it. I try punching glass? Mega stutter. I try talking to an npc? Mega stutter.
