Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 5.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Shadows of Doubt is set in an alternate reality in the hyper-industrialized 1980s. Think like a detective and use a variety of gadgets as a private intelligence investigator, gathering evidence and making money by solving cases, finding and selling information and more.
Play your own way in a fully simulated world with hundreds of citizens. Discover, meet and tail individual citizens, each with their own name, job, apartment and daily routine, in unique, procedurally-generated cities. Each case has different culprits, clues and experiences for you to test your investigative skills.
Explore anywhere in the city! Every nook of every trashy bar, every place of work, every seedy hotel room… This dystopia is your oyster. Break into apartments, rifle through secret documents or hack security systems - even a discarded receipt can be the key to cracking a case. Trace the receipt back to an individual location, scour CCTV footage and match the time up to the receipt to find out who it belonged to!
The entire world is fully simulated. Each citizen has an apartment, job, daily routine, favorite things to do, places to go, and people to interact with. They live out their lives independently, in a world that moves on with or without you— uncover this knowledge and use it to your advantage!
Become a private investigator in a truly unique detective experience. Think like a detective to solve the cases around you: check call histories, find passwords, read private emails, speak to persons of interest, watch CCTV footage and more to retrieve evidence and build your case. Super fun, infinitely re-playable, and I adore the graphics/design!
Shadows of Doubt is one of the few detective games that truly makes you feel like an investigator instead of someone following a scripted mystery. It provides the systems, gives you a city full of possibilities, and trusts you to connect the pieces yourself. The procedural generation is impressive, but what makes the game memorable is how those systems interact. Every apartment, business, citizen, and document exists as part of a larger simulation, which means solving a case feels less like uncovering predetermined clues and more like understanding how the city functions. There were plenty of moments where a small detail or overlooked lead completely changed my assumptions, and those discoveries felt genuinely earned. I also appreciate that the game embraces uncertainty. Not every lead pays off, and there isn't always a clear path forward. That can be frustrating at times, but it's also what makes finally solving a case so satisfying. The game respects your ability to observe, reason, and make mistakes without stepping in to point you toward the answer. The noir atmosphere ties everything together. Rain-soaked streets, dimly lit apartments, and the constant feeling that everyone has something to hide give the city a distinct identity. Even when I wasn't actively working a case, simply wandering through the world felt engaging because it always seemed like another story was waiting to unfold. Shadows of Doubt isn't just a detective game. It's a simulation that trusts the player to create their own investigations, and that's what makes it so compelling. It has a clear vision, commits to it wholeheartedly, and delivers an experience that feels genuinely unlike anything else I've played. It's an easy recommendation.
Up there with some of my favorite indie games of all time. The game's atmosphere is great, the visual style is remarkable, and the noir detective theme is very fun to play around with in a sandbox city of your own. The setting of the game is very intriguing and instantly attaches you to the world you're put in. The soundtrack in this game is perfect, adding a lot to the atmosphere. At the start, the game is a genuine challenge, but as you progress you start to realize that the murder and kidnapping cases are all similar. The first dozen of hours are great in the sense that you are still discovering things, but the game gets repetitive after some time. The games features are very underwhelming considering the game is in a full release state now, but it's still a lot of fun to play around with. The modifiers are interesting to die hard fans of the game, and the steam workshop and modding community shows promise if you get bored, but generally speaking this game is unpolished and still has a lot of potential to be great. Performance issues hold this game back a lot, and the developers don't seem to be making a ton of effort in making the game much better after the full release. I can appreciate this game for how unique and immersive it is however, and hope to see something new for fans of this game like me in the near future.
Loved the gameplay so far and gameplay loop is really satisfying
Creio q seja uns dos melhores jogos de detetive ou o melhor ja feito, tem vezes q vc realmente trava em um caso mas o assassino vai la e mata mais alguem kkkkkkk perdi umas horas e devo perder mais jogando isso.
Generally good game with hard case and problem, a W game tho the optimization is quite bad and game update is rarely. Despite that the game still have amazing customization (only for house tho) Definitely should try you like doing detective and staring at case document for an hours seemingly not knowing what happening
idk whats this thing about "being a detective" and "solving the case" i generally just rob apartments and ocassionaly jump out of the hospitals windows so i can avoid my medical bills
