Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 5.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Break into apartments, rifle through secret documents or hack security systems - even a discarded receipt can be the key to cracking a case. Trace the receipt back to an individual location, scour CCTV footage and match the time up to the receipt to find out who it belonged to!
The entire world is fully simulated. Each citizen has an apartment, job, daily routine, favorite things to do, places to go, and people to interact with. They live out their lives independently, in a world that moves on with or without you— uncover this knowledge and use it to your advantage!

I tried love this game, but in its current state it just makes me sad. Instead of focusing on the unique selling point of this game, the actual cases and procedural content, the devs are preoccupied with graphics and the absolutely irrelevant "survival" mechanics. You end up with cases that quite monotonous and, and occasionally impossible and nothing is being done to fix it. I love the deductive genre, games like obra dinn, golden idol, outer wilds, roottrees, and this could to some extent scratch a similar itch indefinitely. I really hope the devs still turn this around, until then I cannot recommend this game.
I really tried to like it. Kept playing thinking I just need some more time to get hooked but even after 9 hours i just couldn't enjoy playing this game. It's not really a detective game but more of a thief simulator. You don't get to investigate but rather just run from point a to point b while stealing other people's stuff. I wish there was a bit more depth to the cases so you can actually challenge yourself and have a goal. There's also this issue with items or places not being generated so you can't even complete the missions. This game doesnt immerse you like promised. It's very dull, the world feels lifeless even with plenty npcs running around. I must agree to the negative reviews. This game has a good concept. But it's executed poorly.

DO NOT BUY, THIS GAME IS ABANDONED, THEIR LAST UPDATE WAS IN JANUARY AND IT WAS ADDING STEAM WORKSHOP
In it's current state, Shadows of Doubt is entirely too dependent on RNG and procedurally generated content to be consistent enough to enjoy, often soft locking the player in impossible-to-solve cases that force you to either load an old save, or more commonly, need to start a whole new playthrough. I would not recommend it where it currently stands.
Such a cool concept let down by the fact this game has been abandoned by the developers
The only game where you can find a dead body, go to the victim's workplace after hours for more info, get caught trespassing by an employee, beat him up and steal his wallet, then find out that the name on his ID matches exactly with the initials of the creepy message at the crime scene, then you log onto his PC and find out he's in a cult worshipping "the uncle", so you go and get some food real quick before getting a notification that somebody is dead. It's at his address... So! You go to his place, wait for the cops to leave, sneak in, and find the killer's wife is dead, supposedly by the hands of the killer himself. As it turns out, she was in the same cult as her husband, so naturally, you go beat up the killer again and turn him into the police.
If you're a naturally nosy person, then this is the game for you lol. Based on some of the negative reviews, I was a bit afraid to take the plunge, but then I played for around 6 hours straight. There's a lot to like about this game, and there are also some years old bugs that I assume will never be fixed. The other reviews are also right; if you've done one case of a specific type (infidelity, corporate espionage, etc.) then you'll find nothing new upon repeating them. It's unfortunate, because this feels like the type of game that could be built on forever. Still think this game is worth playing; I'd recommend immediately jumping into sandbox mode in the largest city your PC can generate and play on the Long setting. You'll see everything the game has to offer and get a good amount of playtime out of it, too.
I have no idea why this game has so many haters dude, it's just a good game that does what it says it does. There are bugs, yes, some pretty bad, but believe me when I say I've rarely had any big ones and you'll probably barely find any. It's weird, idk why it attracts so much scrutiny when it's done just fine, way better than many other early access games. overall tho, a very interesting premise and decent execution to sink a good amount of hours into.
