About
Disclaimer: This game does NOT have deep simulation like Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld. It's similar, but the simulated elements are very simple in comparison. It's a survival settlement-builder with the goal of "beating" an individual world in 8-12 hours of gameplay.
Manage your ever-growing settlement! Use the resources at your disposal to build structures necessary for survival. Research new structures with a variety of functionalities. When resources grow scarce, explore your surroundings for more. Encounter other settlements and deal with them using diplomacy or hostility.

Clear away the unknown to discover more resources and and other settlements in a procedural world.
Use Influence to recruit new settlers to your cause. Larger populations can produce more resources, but need more food, medicine, and housing to survive.
Research new structures from a large tech tree.
Interact with other settlements in a variety of ways. Figure out a way to deal with them without losing your settlers- or your settlement- in the process.

It's a rough, shallow plate spinning game. Watch your little dudes run around to collect a variety of resources, which are then specified among types of resources for some reason - your buildings don't care what wood they're made of, but your daily trades care if it's spruce or oak! You can't set it on turbo speed as rival settlements you find keep asking you for a cup of sugar and will get pissed off if you fail to give it in time, all this combined with several interconnected resources just makes everything a hassle. The city building aspect is skin deep; you can put down houses and roads for a minor speedboost, and other buildings effect houses in their influence. But the people will just sprint back to their house to go to sleep, so making a town layout didn't really seem to matter.

Cozy and relatively simple, but quite fun. Resource management is well balanced and offers just enough challenge to keep it interesting but still relaxed. There's a bit of waiting involved. Diplomacy needs some fine tuning, now it's too easy to simply send an envoy for a while and ignore everything else until you can annex. Combat feels like a placeholder for multiple reasons. I've attacked only once and haven't been attacked at all due to the diplomacy being so simple, but that said: Currently all settlers just run to one random position and fight it out there with no control on where and what happens. Settler specific stats or special traits don't really matter as it's everyone fighting. But who knows if it gets improved in future updates. Even if it doesn't, it's ok for what it is, as the focus is (or if your playstyle is) on resource management and expansion, and not that much combat, at least thus far in the game. Worth the price at least with the initial discount, but don't expect too much depth.
I'm enjoying my time with this one so far. Nice and relaxing little colony sim.
Agree with others, game just is not fun. Everything happens so slow, the things you unlock feel forced and not fun. I had to refund it because I'll never want to play it ever again. I kind of agree it feels like it's mostly AI generated code that mostly works but it forget to have a soul and be interesting.
This game is genuinely fantastic I am not sure what the other reviews are talking about saying it lacks depth or it has bugs. I think most of that is people not understanding what the resources break out into or something else but the game has had 0 issues with bugs and so far into my run I have only gotten into tier 6 with just under 4 hours. For the price I think this game has a fantastic 8-12 hour loop you can replay a few times and at this price that's excellent value! Definitely a newish twist to the colony sim genre and how you grow/decide to grow is great. Meant to play for only an hour or so and here I am almost 4 hours later
Took about 10 hours to get to Tier 10 and clear up the map (not sure why Steam isn't reporting playtime right). Had a good time of it! It's not DF or Rimworld, but it's also not trying to be. It's a charming semi-incremental citybuilder meant to take about ten hours to play through, and it succeeds imo. I would say that the first 30 minutes were much harder than the rest of the game because there's a lot thrown at you all at once when you hit 5 settlers, but then the difficulty goes down once you figure out the intended gameplay loop and can chill at 10x and just focus on making a nice little city and painting the map.
Too buggy and it seems like mechanics aren't properly implemented, battles occur outside the walls I build
Very early on it becomes literally impossible to lose the game, so you're left to just sit there while your village runs on autopilot for years at a time, gradually accumulating a resource that you have no easy way to boost the generation of, beyond trading away a resource that you need for more endgame buildings. I'm running the game in the background waiting for enough resources to hit village tier 10 just to see if more content opens up, and will update this review if anything interesting happens.
