Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Jogo desde os 20 anos de idade. Jogo fantástico.
Serious Sam The Second Encounter is a FPS masterpiece that successfully expands on everything that made the first game great. The levels are bigger and more beautiful, the enemy encounters are even more intense, and the new weapons are fantastic. The sniper rifle is incredibly satisfying to use, and the chainsaw is one of the most fun additions to the arsenal. That said, I still prefer Serious Sam The First Encounter. My biggest issue with The Second Encounter is that some of its level gimmicks such as altered gravity and bouncing sections take me out of the classic Serious Sam experience. They feel a bit cheap and frustrating instead of adding to the gameplay, and they’re the main reason I don’t enjoy this game quite as much as the first. Like the first game, I also prefer the classic version over the HD remake. The HD version is missing certain details and atmosphere that gave the original its unique charm, making the classic release the definitive way to experience it in my opinion. Despite those criticisms, Serious Sam The Second Encounter is still an excellent FPS and a masterpiece in FPS genre. While I don’t think it reaches the same heights as The First Encounter because of its frustrating level gimmicks, it’s absolutely a must play if you loved the first game. It builds on the original in so many great ways and remains one of the best old school shooters out there. 8/10
Мощнейшее рубилово. Просто ЭТАЛОН в своем жанре.
It's just a good game I played years ago on CD. Very action packed.
I distinctly remember young me being turned off by the tone of the game. Don't get me wrong, Serious Sam is not a dreary/serious (heh) series (they tried that with BFE and, even though I liked it, I understand why people call it 'insipid'), but even so, compared to the First Encounter, there were enough silly bits, meh one-liners, and kinda lame Netricsa entries for me to feel slightly taken out of the experience. Playing it now, I don't care as much as I did, but it's decidedly sillier than the last one. Maybe it's just me? I am kind of a nerd for reading lore entries. Anyways, it also doesn't help that some of the most notorious BS is frontloaded in the first chapter. Stuff like the bouncy room, the circling room, the wind boss, etcetera. I don't feel they are challenging in the way other dickish arenas were in the First Encounter, just tedious and janky. Or, even more janky. That said, the upgrade in the visuals is very apparent from the first level. Sure, it's still an early 2000s shooter, but there's a lot of polish put into the vistas and the arenas. Some are kind of barren? Which is to be expected, this is still a Serious Sam game, but in general they're a lot prettier. And, if I'm being honest, the quality of the encounter and level design skyrockets by the time you get to the second chapter. In short, while it takes a while to get going, I feel this game really shines later on. It's clear the devs got a good grasp of what to improve from the First Encounter, and while it's still practically the same game under the hood, it is absolutely a worthy successor to it. The soundtrack is also top notch, no notes. Hm, maybe I need to give Serious Sam 2 a chance...
