About

Promising the Sabotage touch in every system, Sea of Stars aims to modernize the classic RPG in terms of turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun.

Pressing the action button in sync with the animations increases damage output while reducing incoming damage. Along with timed hits, combat features multi-character combo attacks, boosting, and a strategic "locks" system offering options to play with different damage types in order to hinder enemies while they are channeling powerful attacks or spells, all in an immersive take on the genre; no random encounters, no transitions to separate battlefields, and no grinding.

Swim, climb, vault, jump off or hoist up ledges as you traverse seamlessly through the world with a navigation system based on platformer expertise that breaks free from the classic bound-to-the-grid tileset movement.

Our custom-made render pipeline allows the creation of a breathtaking world coming to life by pushing the limits of 2D pixel-art games.

Dozens of original characters and story arcs will take you on a captivating journey. Sometimes epic, sometimes silly, and other times emotional, Sea of Stars does its RPG duty of exploring classic themes of adventure and friendship, while also being chock-full of the unexpected twists and events you’d expect from a Sabotage production.

There are many ways to hang out in the world of Sea of Stars if you feel the need for a change of pace in your adventures. Sailing, cooking, fishing, stopping by a tavern to listen to a song or play the infamous tabletop game known as "Wheels".....every system has been designed to deliver an experience that pays respect to retro classics, while rethinking in some areas to offer a smooth and modernized experience.

Sea of Stars’ adventure is playable in its entirety by up to three players. Allies can drop in and out anytime to traverse the world together and master the Co-op Timed Hits combat mechanic. Also available via Steam Remote Play Together.

It is just beautiful, and brings back memories of Golden Sun

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

criss de bon jeux la gang, je vous souhaite le meilleur pour vos prochains projet
I started playing this on my Switch, but decided to play it here. It's just as good or better. I love the turn based combat with a little challenge of blocking and getting perfect hits. It gives the turned based combat a more engaging game play. The story is interesting and the characters are fun.
A love-letter to the golden age of JRPGs! * Graphics - Gorgeous, with the old-school 16-bit look of games like Phantasy Star and Chrono Trigger, but with modern lighting, more detail and color, and more detailed animations. It doesn't use any of the depth-of-field or full-3D effects like some modern throwbacks, thereby keeping a more cozy nostalgic appeal. * Music - Good, with some decent tunes and some gorgeous themes. Better than a mixed bag, and the best stuff is truly outstanding. Some of the music, though, is just so-so. * Sound - Good. Nothing stands out, and it's in keeping with the genre. * Controls - Also good, if pretty standard. The controls don't get in the way, and you never feel like you're fighting the controls themselves. * Story - Amazing, though it takes its time. The third act and the finale really make it all worth it, and there are plenty of memorable moments along the way. The primary leads are pretty much blank slate characters, with all the other characters (especially the best friend) being well-written and unique. For some, it might drag a bit until that third act, so be patient. * Gameplay - Good. The combat system of using certain types of attacks to stop the opponent's attacks is interesting, and it rewards good strategy. The use of timing for blocks and special attacks is fun and engaging. I understand some people might get bored with the combat by the finale, but I personally enjoyed it enough to play through the game multiple times. The ability to swap characters into and out of your party mid-battle is also refreshing. Sea of Stars looks and feels better than many of its contemporaries, it never becomes confusing or overly-complicated, sounds great, has a bright and cheerful tone (even in the darker moments), and the story has some really nice twists and turns. The ending is especially emotional if you unlock the True Ending, which is worth doing. If you never experienced the glory days of classic JRPG games or if you just want to revisit the feeling of playing those games, Sea of Stars gets a hardy recommendation. If you require more complex battle systems or juggling tons of characters and stories, you might want to look elsewhere. I've purchased and played completely through this game on Xbox and PS5. I haven't played the expansion, though, so I'll be starting over on Steam now to experience the "Throes of the Watchmaker" DLC. I'll amend the review once that's done.
