Sea of Stars: Sunset Edition

Awfuly designed maps, colors overlap together way too often. I got stuck in the wind mine after the old fart took the elevator. There literally is no indication that you can jump in the hole left after the elevator goes up. I had to watch a video of someone playing and they jumped there by accident! If the map design is so bad early on in the game, I cant even image how much of a pain in the ass later stages get. The fighting mechanics are bad, and I feel like im tickling the enemies. Interrupting enemy skills is one of the worst mechanic in the game. Maybe someday I`ll have the inspiration to pick the game back up, but today is not the day. There is nothing about the story that makes me want to ignore everything I dislike about the game. I thought its gonna be similar to Expedition 33 but I was dissapointed. The conversations between the characters feel hollow and way too short. The music is just some background noise that is not memorable, The movement around the map in some portions is way too slow and tedious. The characters having 2 skills maximum is dissapointing, fighting enemies feels bad and I would preferably skip them. The game even on 50% off is not worth it.

In terms of singleplayer mode, it introduces fun minigames into magic skills (such as timing attacks to achive more damage out of the spell cast) However, because I bought it for co-op via remote play, I would have to give this a thumbs down because you can't control just your own character, you can freely control both. I understand remote play is just split-screen co-op and hence the technical limitations, but it would have been nice to have a online co-op with friend pass.

Por favor, joguem este jogo, realmente tem uma história e gameplay sensacional, para quem jogo Chrono Trigger no passado vai amar muito mesmo!

I really want to like Sea of Stars but the built in cheat "relics" trivializes any challenge. Success in this game comes down to a choice between two paths: tedious grinding or tedious inconsequence. Sure, the player can pick and choose what cheats to activate to scale the difficulty up or down, but if the game wont set the difficulty itself, then I'm just playing a game of tic-tac-toe against myself. Why bother?

6 hours in... it's so boring. If you are a JRPG veteran you know what is going to happen before it happens. Timed button inputs that never seem to work. An annoying companion that that just makes you go ugh. I was stuck in airports and planes for 12 hours with my Steam Deck and couldn't bring myself to continue playing. Not sure I ever will.

No suelo escribir reseñas, pero Sea of Stars se la merece. Lo empecé cuando salió y lo dejé aparcado durante unos 3 años. Hace poco decidí retomarlo y, aunque estaba convencido de que lo había dejado casi al final, resulta que aún me quedaba muchísimo contenido por descubrir (y eso sin contar el New Game+, porque no soy de rejugar títulos). El apartado visual es precioso, la historia engancha y la jugabilidad es una pasada. Sinceramente, por el precio que tiene y todo lo que ofrece, es un juego que recomiendo totalmente.
