Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best RU #94, worst PL #97 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 33.43/day in the week to Sep 1 → 32.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I got this game for my birthday in 2024 after the original survival came out, yet still way before the full game came out, and I am still actively playing this game to this day. Half of my hours came from after the full survival came out, which is about 300 hours, most of the time was condensed into this little time. The new update genuinely gave so much new content, it gave quests, achievements, and, most importantly, an end goal, and yet, the game was still peak even before the update. The game used to cost $29.99, and now it costs $39.99 after the new update, it was most definitely worth it before the price increase, and still is even after. If you like survival games with quests and aspects of semi-automation, grinding, and base building/defending, this game is for you, this game is for everyone. Also go check out Trailmakers.

I’ve been playing Scrap Mechanic Survival since it came out. I haven’t spent any time with the other modules. I have almost five thousand hours in the game so far. Since Drilling Thunder came out, I’m going to have to stop playing the game. I have no choice. The reason for this is that the devs have decided to implement a feature (bug) where striking things with the hammer and refining things shows a flash of light in the center of the screen. This is a migraine trigger and so I cannot tolerate it. Drilling Thunder is not Survival, it just takes the place of it. It is no longer a survival game and it’s become obvious that the devs are trying to kill you in the game. You can expect to die many times getting through it. Moreover, removing the hunger and thirst requirements means that there’s no incentive to grow the crops you needed to survive before and all these things are the requirements of quests which you may or may not care about. The side quests are certainly not something you should care about since the rewards are paltry and fulfilling them requires you to gather resources that you will never get back. The bots in Survival seemed to make a sort of sense. You could see them working for the farmers. The new bots in Drilling Thunder seem to just exist to either kill you or destroy your stuff. It’s greatly annoying that Drilling Thunder requires you to build some vehicles that the devs have designed rather than making the build process open ended like before. Moreover, the vehicles they do have you make are just bad. The first vehicle you’ll make will be quickly discarded just like the first spud gun you’ll get. They don’t seem to serve any other purpose than to annoy you. I understand that you can disassemble the vehicles and reuse the parts but I have to ask why you have to do this in the first place. To me the open-ended nature of the game as it was before was the most rewarding. You built stuff in order to survive. If your creations didn’t work so well you didn’t do so well. That was the game. I spent so many hours playing it by repeatedly starting from scratch and seeing how quickly I could become successful. Drilling Thunder does offer some terrific quality of life improvements over Survival. One wonders how the devs justify putting all of them in Drilling Thunder when they could have been putting at least some of them in the game during the FIVE YEARS(!) the game has been in beta. I would ask why this is but in the five years I’ve communicated with the devs I have never received a response of any kind. I think the most pointless aspect of Drilling Thunder is the schematic system. You have to find parts and then scan them in at a scanning station and then you can build them. The vast majority of these parts are things which have no practical use whatsoever. The only reason you need some of these items is to fulfill quests. I really don’t know why they bothered with this. It’s not fun and it’s not rewarding; it’s just busy work in the game. It seems with Drilling Thunder the devs have tried to make Scrap Mechanic include aspects of other games. Personally, If I wanted to play Fortnite I would play Fortnite. If I wanted to play Call of Duty I’d play Call of Duty. If I wanted a parkour jump puzzle game there are certainly plenty of games for that. I really don’t think throwing the kitchen sink of other games into your game is good design. It certainly ruins the charm. The bottom line here is this: Is the game fun? Some people will probably enjoy it. For me it just seems like work. Things are just too hard to get and getting to that point has stopped being fun and removing the survival aspect has made it pointless.
the games fun but the survival is the most headbashing boring thing ive ever played
i was forced to play this game, its no fun and very boring. there is barely any content. play minecraft instead of this
Я успел закончить школу и первый курс в колледже и после стольких лет эта игра скоро выйдет :)
