About
Sandustry is a factory automation game where every pixel is a resource waiting to be mined, mixed, processed, or destroyed. Explore a vast and fully-destructible open world as you seek out powerful artifacts left behind by an ancient civilization.

You’ve arrived on a vast unexplored planet filled with diverse biomes and beautiful landscapes – time to bring the fires of industry! From humble beginnings sifting gold from sand, you will quickly build a growing factory, unlocking powerful new technologies and production chains as you assess the viability of the planet for further industrialization. Countless options lie before you – will you focus on developing more advanced processing and logistical capabilities across your rapidly-expanding factory? Will you take advantage of local wildlife to aid with your mission? Or will you prioritize the hunt for artifacts, spending valuable resources to unlock access to their boons? And hey, there’s no faster way to mine than with the help of a rocket launcher, right? Build a beacon of industry and automation starting with nothing more than the trusty conveyor belt, incorporating filters, drones, pipes, pumps, and a myriad of other parts as you harness nature itself to do your bidding.

From individual grains of sand and flakes of snow to seeds, spores, and chips of ice, every pixel in Sandustry is a physical entity with its own properties. Discover countless chemical and physical reactions and exploit them to develop your production chains, building a pixel-perfect factory to optimize every step, or embracing chaotic webworks of conveyor belts and lifts as long as they get the job done – but be warned, sand is coarse, rough, and it gets everywhere, which introduces a new layer of complexity. The resources in Sandustry react to each other and the world around them – ice melts into water when heated, which turns to steam and rises if brought to a boil (only to come back down as rain if you let it reach the skies). Sand absorbs water around it, slowly depleting limited reservoirs to provide the wet sand that can be sifted for gold, while watered seeds bloom into flowers that can be ignited with fire to produce vital resources.

Deep beneath the planet’s surface lie countless mysteries for you to explore. Find clever ways to overcome the challenges left behind by an ancient civilization to uncover vaults of great knowledge and power. Nothing punches through a thick wall of ice like a freshly purchased flamethrower, but perhaps you can find a way to redirect some lava instead?

Built with modding in mind, Sandustry lets you explore everything from visual tweaks and hand-crafted maps to entirely new buildings and processes that you can integrate into your production chains. Dedicated modding tools make it easy to customize your experience, share your ideas with the world, and even overhaul the whole game!
As you delve deeper into the planets of Sandustry and expand your industrial capabilities, the challenges will grow, but so too will your ways to overcome them. With fully destructible worlds where every pixel is a resource to be harnessed, your options are limitless.

As a big fan of Satisfactory, Factorio and other automation games, I had an absolute blast with Sandustry, even in its current Early Access state. So much so that I ended up completing every available achievement, and had a genuinely fun time doing it. The automation is obviously the big draw, but what really makes Sandustry stand out is the way the world itself plays into it. Having every pixel essentially behave as a resource, with liquids, sand and other materials physically interacting with the environment, adds a really interesting twist to the usual factory-building formula. There's something incredibly satisfying about starting with basically nothing and gradually turning a chunk of the world into a sprawling mess of belts, pipes, machines and increasingly complicated production chains. Progression also feels really well paced. There's almost always another problem to solve, resource to automate or bit of the factory that you suddenly realise could be doing things much more efficiently. It scratches exactly the same "I'll just fix this one thing..." itch that the best automation games do, and then suddenly another couple of hours have disappeared. There's obviously plenty of room for more content, particularly once you've worked your way through everything currently available, but that's exactly what I'd expect from a game this early into Early Access. What's already here feels remarkably polished and, more importantly, the core gameplay loop is already really bloody good. If you're a fan of games like Satisfactory or Factorio, I'd absolutely recommend giving Sandustry a go. It has enough of the familiar automation-game DNA to immediately feel comfortable, while doing enough differently with its destructible, physics-driven world to have its own identity. Really looking forward to following the game and its solo dev through the rest of the game's development journey. If this is the starting point for Early Access, I'm very excited to see where it ends up.
This game is fantastic if you love automation games. Terraria meets satisfactory imo. I was fully prepared to shell out $30 prior to launch, so a release price at a third of that is a steal
Played the demo about a year ago and have been waiting for it this to come out and they did not disappoint.
Damn this game is really good. At the beginning you might think it's too easy or simplistic but when I reached Research Tier 5 I realized I was wrong. With each new Tier you unlock the complexity of the game expands and you can improve your workflow or have to come up with an entirely new design. Also watching the sand be moved and processed through your machine is kind of meditating. Hoping for even more content and maybe graphical improvement (similar to Noita or Terraria maybe).
Its like the Powder Toy and Minemogul had a beatiful baby. Voxelbased map with MANY satisfying ways to get to your material and mining. A surprisingly stable physics simulation that can withstand most of my shenanigans and works 98% of the time( some kinks gotta get ironed out especially after hitting early acces just a few days ago). Automation in a uniqe and one of a kind system that requires problem solving that leaves so much creative freedom i can build an endless reverse flowing Hourglass. And its allready a pretty crisp feel in the game polish wise. A wish i have is for a more worked out blueprint and copying system where i can repeatedly place blueprints save them and rotate them. and maybe more laser upgrades. Other than that just an awesome game with tons to do allready. :)
Played the demo and bought the game the moment it came out, well worth it. I've long been waiting for a game which uses simulated pixels in a factorio-esque context and this game far exceeds any hopes I had, cannot wait for further updates.
