Realistic sailing mechanisms... check, awesome usable navigation tools... check, furnishing your own boats... check, heavy and intense day drinking... check, unexpectedly stormy stressful deliveries... check. Huge potential to be a game with infinite fun, especially if it has steam workshop mods... Bugs do occur if you run the game for too long in one instance but so far all the bugs I encountered I fixed with reopening the game.
If you're looking for a casual merchant/cargo-running sailing sim that's more on the game side than realistic simulator side, this is for you. Simple to pick up and enjoy yet plenty of skills to master for those more dedicated. The customizable ships as well as the variety of ships available are definitely stand-out features -- alongside the fact that you can decorate and stock up your ship with provisions however you see fit. There is a clear progression path too which is entirely optional; you can stick to a small sailing boat with 1 simple-to-use sail and be a local runner, or you can customize a Brig with tons of sails and lines to manage and be a crazy merchant tycoon -- or explorer! Yes, bugs are present but they don't seem to be abundant nor are they too debilitating to the experience. Devs seem to really care about the awful bugs and work hard to get them patched asap. Overall a solid experience for $20. Be mindful of those storms!

The one and only Age-of-Sail Sailing Simulator. The one you didn't know you needed in your life... until you tried it. If you like games like ATS or ETS2, or any chill-ish game based on completing deliveries, you'll like this one. If you like simulating real world physics you'll like this one. If you like economy/trade games you'll like this one. If you love pirates or explorers you'll love this one, although there is no combat, the feeling of sailing for days just to finally see land, just when you're about to die of dehydration, is unmatched.
A perfect game to chill and relax. It still has some bugs, but I believe in the developers and the future of this game. I'm loving it so far and hope to see more QoL improvements and new content in the future
this game is great i love it just wish making money early game was easier and there was more of a guide to All the aspects to the game and maybe a map with heading so i can know what heading to go to. and some sort of speed and wind measurement. plus something to do other than sleep and fish to pass the time, and i the boats were a little faster, or if they could sail against the wind like they can in real life. W game
this game is worth every penny especially if you like the whole sailing aspect of sea of thieves but dont wanna get hunted down an killed by every person you see this is the game for you there is ship upgrades and decorations aswell as fishing an cooking! you can buy an sell goods to traders or do missions hauling cargo and if you wanna get to one side of the map to the other it can take real life DAYS to sail i personally think that is AWSOME! games runs smooth and plays smooth.
Brandy, you're a fine girl. What a good wife you would be! But my life, my lover, and my lady is the sea.
One of the best games I've ever played. Ignore the naysayers, they're just butthurt that they're bad at sailing. It's tons of fun to be able to fully outfit your ship, load up on cargo, and take the extraordinary risk of days at sea without a little "you are here" arrow on the map. Storms, thirst, hunger, damaged hulls taking on water, shifting winds coming from your desired heading, and on and on just make this the right amount of realistic challenge without being inaccessible. Also, having sailed in real life, I'm very impressed with the physics and the reactivity of the vessels to trimming the sail and waves. I've even gotten seasick from playing the game on my monster monitor. 10/10 would recommend. Pls buy so the developer can get rich so that he keeps refining the game and adding more awesome ♥♥♥♥.
