Sacrifice is the acclaimed real-time strategy game that focuses on combat instead of resource gathering. The only two resources you'll need to worry about are mana and souls. Need more units? Capture the souls of your enemy. Cast spells of awesome power.

Sacrifice is truly a hidden gem in the rough. I played this as a kid and to my surprise it still hold up to this day. It's unfortunately overpriced for how old it is but still worth anyone's time who is looking to enjoy an old school classic. It's basically a 3rd person Age Of Empires and does it very well.
Played this when it first came out years ago. So glad to have it back after all this time.
Third person RTS with spell slinging. Cool game though the controls aren't the best.

Best game ever! They don't make them like this anymore. The art style is out of this world funky
Amazing game from my childhood, I don't think the Steam version works correctly though so I would get the GOG version. It is like a RTS in third person but a lot simpler and easier to pickup. If the gameplay doesn't get you-- the voice acting, art, and charm of the game will at least leave a lasting impression.
been playing this game for 20 years, and probably will play it as long as it runs
This game was one of my first experiences ever on a Computer. My Dad had the disc & demo with codes. I only ever remember completing the demo as for some reason it wouldn't let me proceed past the demo regardless if I had the full game codes. I had to of played the demo a few dozen times. I thought the ability to summon creatures to fight for you was the coolest thing ever. There's very few games that give the same experience as this one. I assume this is where my curiosity for World of Warcraft came from. I only got to play W.o.W. a handful of times due to the cost of the servers. Which led me to becoming obsessed with Guild Wars when I found it. I had that garbage HP laptop with the rubber nob in the middle around 2000-2004. This game ran good then & it runs good now. I wish nothing but the best for the people who created this game as it set a standard for me when it comes to games.
If you're at all on the fence, MandaloreGaming has a video on this game. It's only about 20 mins long, but does a great job summing things up. One of my all-time favourites. The game is a bit strange to explain to other people, I don't know anything to compare it to exactly. It's an RTS for sure, but also 3rd person action game - you control a single wizard, and you use the mouse, keys, and gestures to manage both your character and units at once. Souls are the currency in this game, so it turns combat and resource gathering into a single thing - steal the enemy souls and prevent yours getting stolen during a fight. No building chains, no upgrades. Just fight / achieve objectives. AI is a bit dated, you can certainly find ways to cheese it sometimes. But honestly that's a blessing for me. I SUCK at RTS games, but I've been able to make it through this game several times cuz I'm able to figure out cheese strategies for the super difficult parts. Also a weird strong point, but the voice acting cast for this is INSANE, which is weird when you think of old video games. Cast is a mish-mash of celebrities from the 90s and beyond: Tim Curry, Tara Strong, Grey DeLisle (Vicky from Fairly Odd Parents, Azula from Avatar), Brad Garrett (Raymond's brother in Everybody Loves Raymond), Tony Jay (Narrator from Treasure Planet), Rob Paulsen (Pinky from Pinky and the Brain, Raphael from TMNT). Dialogue for them all is well written, and the characters are memorable.
