About

█ ROUTINE is a First Person Sci-Fi Horror title set on an abandoned lunar base designed around an 80s vision of the future.
Curious exploration turns into a need for survival when a lunar base goes completely quiet. Searching for answers puts you face to face with an enemy who is certain the main threat is you. Discoveries lead to deeper unknowns and the only way to go is forward. ▌
Note: ROUTINE offers no waypoint markers, finding your way is part of the experience. Slow down, observe your surroundings, explore carefully, and review data to uncover the path forward.
█ EXPLORE: Roam through contrasting sectors of the lunar base, from deteriorating living quarters and tram stations to an abandoned mall. ▌
█ OBSERVE: Investigate your surroundings and uncover crucial information to progress and piece together the events that unfolded before your arrival. ▌
█ IMMERSE: Full body awareness, diegetic audio, and minimal UI help create a gripping and atmospheric experience. ▌
█ OPERATE: Your Cosmonaut Assistance Tool (C.A.T.) is vital. Use it to access critical terminals, navigate the environment and identify clues. ▌
█ SURVIVE: Run, hide, or attempt to defend yourself against unknown threats using the C.A.T. as a last resort. ▌

Pretty good game. Buy it on sale, not worth $20
The game presumed dead... I'm not usually the one to be disturbed by horror, but this, this is something different. I verbally screamed at times. The atmosphere is SO GOOD, you sink into the world in mere minutes, managing the C.A.T is so satisfying and creative, with all its HUD'less features. The entire thing is an art piece, every second being wallscreen material

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Well this is a tricky game. Honesty this is one of those games that i would neither recommend or not recommend, the game is somewhere inbetween. I am going to do something i do not usually do in my reviews, i am giving a score to this game. This game is medicore or little under mediocre, so i would give it a 4-5/10 score. I would like to say i do not think this game has any mayor objective problems, but i have subjective problems with it. I do not think the game deserves a negativ/not recommended review because of subjective problems. If you are interested what i liked or did not like about the game keep reading. Biggest problem with the game for me was that i neither liked it or hated it. It did not leave much of an impression on me. Most precise thing i can say about the game is that i palyed it. Secondly i did not find the game scary. This game supposed to be a psychological horror game, but the first half, 3/4 of the game was not scary at all for me. When the game strated to get a little scary i already started to lose interest in it. I am almost 100% percent certain i will not replay this game again. What i liked about the game are the visuals and enviroment. They are pretty good. I liked that the game does not hold the players hand, however at the same time it is a problem too sometimes. Also liked that the game did not take the player for a complett idiot, with a functioning brain and some patience the "puzzles" of the game can be solved. As i said the game do not have any mayor objective problems like not being able to start the game, crashing every 30 minutes, performance problems, glitching into obejcts or soft locking your progress somehow. However i do think there are minor objective problems with the game. Like the "tutorial" barely explains anything, or interactable objects in places that does not make sense (at the beginning of the game the player get locked in a room and the button to open it in a place that does not make sense logicaly, or based on the environment, and there were no previous example of such placement). The next problem to some degree can be considered a subjective problem. The story is completely told through text like emails, diary entries and such. If you do not read any of those you will have no idea what the game is about. I read everything that i found until i started lose interest in the game, but i still only have a vague idea what the story of this game is about. As i already mentioned i did not find that game scary. Biggest reason for that is the "enemy" in the game. There only two enemy in the game and the first was not scary at all. It was easy to get away from it, it did not detect the player easily and it was easy to make it immobile. The second enemy has much better fear factor. The game is pretty short i finished it 6-7 hours. If you know where to go what to do the game can be easily finished in 1.5-2 hours. There are more things to nitpick about, but i think for a steam review my previous points were enough. I would not recommend buying the game at full price, wait for sale, my recommendation would be 50% discount on it. If you read the review so far and was useful for you, leave a thunbs up or something, so i know it was not complett waste of time writing it. :)
I want to say that while I have said that I would recommend the game, i wish i could have an actual middle of the road option. The visual style, the sound design and the mechanics are very impressive and i very much enjoyed that. That said, there are quite a lot of things i found jarring, lacking or flat out frustrating. Potential spoilers below but I will try to be as vague as I can so nothing is seriously spoiled. The first few chapters set up a specific tone and teach the player a lot of mechanics that, once you move to the later part of the game, become virtually obsolete. The un-modded part of the CAT is not ever used once you get to the second setting of the game and the mod you spend most of the first setting obtaining is used for a grand total of one puzzle in the second. Doors and vents change mechanics so completely that I, embarrassingly, got stuck at the first vent of the second setting because I had just been taught that they need to be opened electrically, not walked through. The robots in the first section seem threatening but end up being a non-issue. they will sometimes toss you and then let you run away and other time just smack you on the back and let you run. They never once posed a real issue for me and I would just sprint through the levels. The second monster, is invisible, one shots you, and you have to gamble to to the mechanic to see it because if you can hear it clearly there's a very solid chance that when you do see it it will see you, hunt you, and kill you. I likes how puzzles were done, but the hints in game were sometimes far to obtuse, or you require you to run to a save point and check your notes as you cannot re-check any codes you know outside of a save point. The story was interesting, but told in a way that leaves me with more questions than i entered with. Things felt disconnected at times, what was the point of Entity A, beyond being a threat to the player it felt somewhat out of place. The ending made me realize that it was most likely a mycelial memory but that opens even more questions that i fear will just be answered with "its a mystery" I would say that the game is great, but if you are looking for a difficult or tense horror game, you will not find that here unless puzzles are the only difficulty you want. But if you want the atmospheric experience of being lost and alone in a retro sci-fi world this is wonderful.
What a great game! This is a fantastic eerie experience that has you wonder alone through an empty liminal space port attempting to discover what the hell happened to everybody. The first thing that instantly grabbed me was the visual/audio design which captures 80's space horror absolutely perfectly. It's pure atmosphere from the second you start playing. There's a lot of emphasis on the sounds you are making directly, like your footsteps which stomp through the otherwise deafening silence of the space port corridors, and you engineers suit squeaks and rubs on surfaces as you navigate tight tunnels. This really makes you feel alone as the only other thing there to make a sound other than the clicks and spinning reels of the 80's space computers that are barely keeping the station functioning, Just awesome. I'm stuck in this 80's horror vibe now and I'm trying to find something along the same themes to play next. If anyone has a suggestion please tell me : D
On surface level, Routine just seems like another copy of the "Isolated Space Horror" theme. The, "You're trapped on a planet with monsters, shoot your way out" sort of game. But you actually start playing, it becomes evident that this is not the case. Routine builds an experience with excellent mechanics, unique takes on pre-existing themes, and many story elements that trick you into thinking you have it all figured out, until a new detail is added that completely changes your perspective. Few other games have made me feel a mix of fear, sadness, hope and peace like this one has. Yes, the campaign is somewhat short for most modern games, but it still manages to craft a story better than almost any other game you can find on the market.
absolute cinema the art is incredible, atmosphere is great, story is interesting, the tool you have is very satisfying to use with all it's buttons however the first enemy you encounter will become less scary as it's easier to just stun or outrun it then hiding from it.
This is a game that I thought I would like with the surreal atomosphere and retro-futurism, and those things I do like. Even having to degause your tool's monitor is cute. The graphics are nice and the world building is interesting. The problem is everything else. This game tries to copy the Alien Isolation formula, but it doesn't really advertise this so I didn't realize I was buying a stealth game. It's also trying to copy the idea of discovering game mechanics on your own but that just makes the stealth aspects annoying. You're given a tool that can maybe disable the robots, but it requires precise shooting in a terrible interface, so no you can't disable robots. However, you can hide from them and they aren't very fast, so just run away, hide somewhere (usually crouching down and waiting for them to go away because they can't crouch down too =( ) and then stare at their feet because it takes 5 - 10 minutes for them to go away. The game doesn't pause while you read notes so maybe you're reading a note because you like to learn about the world the developers created, BUT ROBOTS DON'T WAIT AROUND FOR YOU TO READ NOTES BECAUSE THIS IS A GRITTY REAL GAME FOR REAL PEOPLE, NERD! So the robot grabs you and punches you out for your curiosity. The game also doesn't really explain its mechanics to you, meaning that you have to discover things for yourself. You have to discover that the robots can't crouch, you have to discover that the fingerprints can be seen on the terminals (and why that's useful), you have to discover that when robots are just standing there for a bit it's because they're inactive during that time so you can just walk by them, you have to discover that you forgot to put on your helmet in the intro! This can make for some tedium as you'll get stuck easily, there aren't many hints and if you're like me you'll just go and read a walkthrough because the game will just stop and you're not sure what you're supposed to be doing. The game is fighting with itself to be a puzzler, an atmospheric, an exploration, or a predetor/pray/stealth type situation and these genre's don't really go well together, or maybe they could but it's not done well here. Maybe if you like Alien Isolation you'll like this too, although in that you get a proper gun, a flashlight (This is a dark game and you don't get something resembling a flash light for a bit, except for a bit in the vents where your helmet light turns on for some inexplicable reason, meaning you've had a flash light the WHOLE TIME BUT NO WAY TO TURN IT ON!), you can beat up the robots, a radar (There's a part in this game where an invisible alien hunts you, sure would have been nice to have that.) and the game is more explicit about where you need to go and what you need to be doing.
Very cool game. The athmosphere is beyond cool with its 70-80s retro sci-fi theme.. and there is a decent amount of jumpscares and some tricky "puzzles" to solve.. Just a cool game to spend some hours in. Buy it and have fun!
