For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

I enjoyed playing this game, i especially loved the ending. There were parts that I felt dragged a little more than i hoped for but i really love the storyline, voice acting, characters, and art work!
Excellent point and click adventure game set in 1840s/50s America. Compelling story and no moon logic puzzles so far.
Seemed like it would have been a cool game conceptually. It is too slow, and it is waaay too linear. There are parts that if you don't make the right decisions, you cannot advance the game. I do not recommend at all.

Bought this game when it launched but only just got around to playing it. Wish I had got around to playing it sooner - I loved it! Great storyline, I really connected with and got to love the characters. Highly recommended.
Rosewater is a richly written point-and-click adventure that successfully blends the traditions of classic adventure games with the atmosphere of a Western road story. Set in the alternate 19th-century world previously established in Lamplight City, it follows freelance writer Harley Leger after she heads west in search of a new beginning. Her arrival in the seemingly uneventful border town of Rosewater initially leads to an ordinary newspaper assignment, but the situation quickly expands into a hunt for a missing man's fortune. What follows is a journey across Western Vespuccia filled with criminals, rebels, unusual thinkers, opportunists, and plenty of people whose intentions are not immediately obvious. Developed by Grundislav Games and published by Application Systems Heidelberg, the game makes storytelling and character interaction its greatest priorities. Harley is particularly effective as a protagonist because she approaches the frontier from the perspective of a writer rather than the stereotypical Western gunslinger. Her personality gives conversations considerable importance, and the adventure gradually becomes as much about the people traveling alongside her as the treasure they are pursuing. Five companions can become part of the journey, with relationships responding to choices made throughout the story. These decisions can affect the direction of later events, giving conversations more purpose than simply providing exposition or clues. The traveling structure also helps distinguish Rosewater from more conventional point-and-click adventures. Harley and her companions move through different areas of the frontier instead of remaining within a single city. Randomized story encounters can occur during the expedition, with circumstances and outcomes influenced by earlier decisions and available resources. This adds an element of uncertainty to the journey and encourages players to consider how their actions might create consequences later. With more than 60 characters appearing throughout the adventure, the world maintains a strong sense of personality and variety. Puzzle design takes a refreshingly practical approach. Traditional inventory mechanics remain important, but the game avoids relying heavily on bizarre combinations that only make sense after exhausting every possible interaction. Items generally have understandable purposes, while certain situations support multiple solutions depending on how the player chooses to proceed. The result is a puzzle system that complements the narrative instead of repeatedly bringing its momentum to a halt. Veteran adventure players seeking extremely cryptic challenges may consider some solutions relatively straightforward, but the increased logic makes progression more satisfying and accessible. Presentation is another major strength. The detailed pixel artwork creates an immediately recognizable visual identity, while fully rotoscoped animations give characters unusually natural movement for this type of retro-inspired adventure. Cinematic close-ups are used during important moments, allowing action and emotional reactions to receive more emphasis. Although the game presents its graphics at 1280x720, this works comfortably with its carefully constructed pixel-art direction. Locations effectively communicate the dusty, unpredictable atmosphere of an alternate-history frontier without attempting to imitate photorealistic modern Western games. Sound contributes significantly to the experience. Mark Benis provides the musical score, including live instrumentation that complements the frontier setting and quieter dramatic scenes. Full English voice acting is particularly valuable because dialogue occupies such a large part of the adventure. A substantial professional cast gives the many characters distinct personalities, with performers including Maya Murphy, Cissy Jones, Dave Fennoy, and Roger Clark. The quality of the performances makes extended conversations more enjoyable and strengthens both dramatic and humorous scenes. Rosewater also succeeds in balancing different tones. There is mystery and danger surrounding the fortune, but the narrative leaves room for humor, friendship, personal conflict, and quieter conversations. Violence exists, including shootings and physical confrontations, yet combat is not the central mechanic. The experience remains primarily focused on dialogue, exploration, choices, inventory puzzles, and narrative consequences. Players expecting a conventional action-oriented Western should therefore adjust their expectations. This is an adventure about people and decisions rather than gunfights and reflex-based challenges. Replayability is strengthened by alternative solutions, relationship changes, player choices, and variable travel encounters. The central narrative naturally remains recognizable between playthroughs, so this should not be mistaken for an endlessly branching role-playing game. Still, there is enough flexibility to make alternative decisions worthwhile, especially for players interested in seeing how Harley's relationships and certain situations can develop differently. Steam Deck compatibility is officially rated Playable rather than Verified. The game runs successfully on SteamOS and its default graphics settings perform well on the handheld. All functionality is accessible with the default controller configuration, making the core adventure comfortably playable. The main compromises are that some prompts can display mouse, keyboard, or non-Steam Deck controller icons, certain text may appear small, and occasional text entry requires manually bringing up the on-screen keyboard. These inconveniences prevent the experience from being completely seamless, but they are relatively minor for a slower-paced point-and-click adventure. Overall, Rosewater is an impressive example of how traditional point-and-click design can be modernized without abandoning the qualities that made the genre appealing. Logical puzzles, meaningful choices, changing companion relationships, randomized encounters, excellent voice work, expressive animation, and a distinctive alternate-history Western setting combine into an adventure with considerable personality. Its deliberate pacing and dialogue-heavy structure will naturally appeal more to story-focused players than those seeking constant action, but within its chosen genre it delivers a thoughtful and memorable journey. The treasure hunt provides the motivation, yet Harley's companions, encounters, decisions, and evolving relationships ultimately become the more rewarding parts of the experience. Rating: 9/10
It took me 12 hours to beat Rosewater. It’s a point-and-click adventure, but it constantly feels like an RPG: you manage a party, juggle episodic quests while chasing a bigger goal, and deal with (seemingly) random encounters, as if the DM were rolling on a random encounter table. The lively opening hooked me right away. Honestly, though, the sheer number of party members early on overwhelmed me a bit. I kept mixing up Phil and Danny; it takes a while for them to really find their footing and become distinct characters. The episodes are a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes you’re helping a theater troupe pull off a play, other times you’re helping a sea captain process the trauma of his lost crew or guiding an orthodox congregation back to their moral compass. Some of them made me smile, others genuinely moved me, and only a few felt like tedious point-and-click busywork. The voice acting is very convincing, even if you can tell some actors doubled up on roles. The art is lavish and packed with lovely details. There’s always something to notice, like the water animations in the harbor, the flags waving in the wind, or the close-ups on characters during dramatic beats. The soundtrack works well, too. It’s a mix of CC-licensed music (well-curated) and some excellent original tracks (this is where the music really shines). I had a great 12 hours with it, and a lot of scenes stayed with me. It drags a little toward the end, and the main plot feels secondary to the better individual episodes (it’s just a bit too traditional). All in all, a lovely game I’d definitely want to replay in a few years.
Even more intrigiuing than Lamplight City. Lots of different option, amazing story, dialogues and humor.
I mean this is lightyears better then Lamplight City. The voice actors are drastically better, the game’s story is better, the characters are better, the art and design are better. The game is also decently long at around 15 hours. The amount of choices in this game also have real impact on the story as the story goes as opposed to it just having some random note at the very end. So again, this is a really well done adventure game and yet…I just could not stand it. I was soooooo bored, like ridiculously bored. I think my problem is I must hate westerns. I also want basically all adventure games to be murder mysteries and this isn’t that. This is a Oregon Trail the adventure game. Literally, you go on a wagon across the west and your wagon constantly encounter things on the trip. I just didn’t care. I wanted to be in the super cool city of New Presidio, you know with like people and airships and crazy scientists…I didn’t want to be in a wagon meeting weirdos as I travel across the west. I’m sure a lot of people would like that and the amount of choices you can make on your way can make for a fun game…but I just didn’t care. I also felt the relationship system to be so confusing. It’s not very easy to tell what will increase or decrease your relationships. I feel it should be much clearer what actions are going to increase or decrease relationships. I don’t have the energy to replay this game where I would have now a better understanding…it’s just so weird. It feels almost old school…I mean it is an adventure game so…ok…but I feel it’s still 2026 and game should not be hiding what actions are affecting character reputation. There are some story things that I want to discuss, but they are spoilers:
I was very annoyed that Phil dies and when I looked up how to save him I was baffled. To save him Nadine has to get shot and apparently if she is shot she survives and you get this if your relationship with her is high. I thought I had the highest relationship with her, but again because it’s so vague it’s almost impossible to tell. So apparently I didn’t…not sure how that’s possible as I did everything she asked. It was so frustrating. Then the reveal that Jake tricked you all into this quest and was really working for an oil baron just seems crazy and nonsensical. I mean I know he is a con artist…but I felt their was no groundwork to really lay out this even more ridiculous plot point. I did really enjoy jake coming back and sacrificing his life to save you and becoming a hero, I felt that was a fitting ending…so that was nice…but still…the ending that you go back to Rosewater and write basically a scifi novel is so weird. For one…I don’t want to go back to Rosewater that town suckssssss. Two…I was even more confused because Leger is not someone who would ever settle down somewhere and to pick Rosewater is just so nonsensical to me. Overall I just kind of found the ending very strange. I wish I had the option to work with Shaw at the end. Also…I don’t understand why their was not an option to fake the scientists death…you have a gun that disintegrates bodies…and he insisted my plan would never work…
this game is great at giving you different options to solve situations and it felt like at the end of the game you had no options to solve the final “puzzle.” Look…if you like westerns you’ll probably like this game…if Oregon Trail was your favorite game you’ll probably love this…but otherwise…no…To me all the interesting part of this game occurred in El Presidio which you only spend a short time in at the end of the game. You want a better adventure game with fun puzzles and a cool story then I would say pick up Foolish Mortals or Unavowed. Two games I would describe as the best modern adventure games.
