Thanks to the rising popularity of the PhoneDroid—a device which features augmented reality (A.R.)—the age of advanced technology has finally reached Tanegashima. On that island, Central Tanegashima High's "Robot Research Club" is about to have their club disbanded.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.5/day in the week to Aug 5 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One could definitely say this game's pacing would fall under a "slow burn". Where Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head Noah are arguably more plot-driven, Robotics;Notes bread and butter is its characters. That's not to say that this game doesn't have an interesting plot or that Steins;Gate didn't have an S-tier cast, but that you could remove all the intrigue and mystery from Robotics;Notes and still have an amazing entry. There were times when I was excited to play this game even where there was seemingly little to not progress in the driving plot. Just seeing the interactions and development of the main cast was enough of a reason to come back to this game. Akiho,
Junna, Subaru, Frau, Airi, and Doc
are all characters that will be embedded in my mind for a long time. For the record, you definitely want to get all the endings for a satisfying experience. With Steins;Gate you could gun for the true ending and be done. With Chaos;Head Noah, you could complete the game once and still feel like you got a complete game. With Robotics;Notes you have to do all of them if you want to walk away happy. Because of that, this ends up being longer than the other entries arguably. Despite this, the writing is really concise and all of it pays off immensely. Tera strong entry and isn't appreciated enough.

I found the story very charming
Robotics;Notes shifts between slice-of-life chapters featuring sports-anime-like robot building, and chapters focused on unraveling a mystery that feels in-line with mysteries of other Science;Adventure titles. The cast sits right behind Steins;Gate in terms of likeability, however the story starts to lose me towards the end, where it starts to reach the power of friendship and action flick levels that never quite resonated with me in any Sci;Adv game. What immediately stands out is the presentation which features 3D models instead of static character sprites. They do feel awkward to watch at first, but you can get used to them over time and even enjoy the silly charm of some of the animations. The artstyle in CGs can also look a bit off at times, mostly in how the character faces are drawn. The visual novel also features some interactive elements, similar to the phone mechanic in Steins;Gate. There is a fighting video game, during which you have to input the correct buttons at the correct time, an environment inspecting tool and Twitter. All of which matter when it comes to unlocking specific character routes. Unfortunately, the system is just as obscure and annoying to deal with as in Steins;Gate or VNs in general and you are better off just consulting a guide. A weird aspect of the character routes is that they all happen pretty much chronologically one after another, which makes me wonder why not just ditch the route unlocking mechanic in the first place. Coming back to the story, the beginning can feel very slow, as Sci;Adv games and visual novels in general tend to do. The main heroine Akiho is pretty good at carrying and driving the story forward while you slowly start to enjoy the rest of the cast as well. The main hero, Kaito, on the other hand, starts off quite annoying as a generally apathetic and boring guy. There is a reason for that and he gets a bit better later on, but it can be a struggle to follow the story, since a lot of it is told through his perspective. What is pretty unique to the storytelling in Robotics;Notes is that it shifts perspectives quite frequently, which is a first for the Science;Adventure games. This helps keep things interesting and fresh as the story slowly starts to unravel and merge both the slice of life and mystery thriller halves. I did not enjoy the more action focused ending, which by now is the norm for me with this franchise. The conclusion of Steins;Gate remains pretty much the only Sci;Adv ending I have thoroughly enjoyed, as it felt more small and personal instead of a sudden growth in scope. Overall, Robotics;Notes is a pretty good mix of slice of life and mystery, supported by a likeable cast and presented in a new, unusual, but charming in its own sort of way, 3D character model approach.
Overly verbose story for no purpose other than to drag out the runtime. The plot in general is quite mid with an anticlimactic ending. Quite disappointing as the concept could have been cool and the introduction was quite good
An awesome game but it felt a lot more slow-paced and slice of lifey than the other entries in SciAdv which kinda made it boring for me at first, but it does pay off later in the story. Still liked it a lot better than Chaos;Head since the protagonist isn't that much of a jackass and is actually a decent human being lol. Before heading into this game I'd definitely recommend playing both Chaos;Head and Steins;Gate beforehand or you'll miss out on a bunch of references and tie-ins from those games (a minor character from a previous game quite literally becomes one of the main driving forces here). And while on the topic of how to play, once again grab the committee of 0 patch, it fixes translation errors and also adds mouse support. All in all a great vn if you have time to spare. Nocchiyo!
