Really well crafted puzzle game with some solid difficulty. As someone who hasn't played any other games in this series, this game was very enjoyable as a standalone experience. Some exploration based clickables felt frustrating and I needed a couple hints for those which is my only gripe but that comes with the territory that this type of game covers. The ending puzzles were very satisfying to solve and didn't require any hints for the actual solve. The lore and world building is also top-notch, feeling very thought out and well put together.

a game that, after 30 years of dev, cannot remember whether you flipped a switch or opened a door. it breaks immersion in a completely beautiful and incredible game to the point where you wonder "what the ♥♥♥♥ am I doing here?" edited to a positive. it's beautiful and the puzzles are perfect, but add some boolean vars ffs.
It's Riven but with new elements
I love the mechanical feel of the world. It gives a reason behind the more slow methodical pacing that prevents puzzles from being spammed. It also just feels sort of crunchy on the brain in a good way. The world is beautiful and is unique enough to feel compelling while exploring the islands. My big draw back from this game is the puzzles feel a little aimless. Or at least 2 of the 6 animal symbols do and that kind of left me wandering around the world (relatively slowly) looking through a lens at everything. I appreciate when the game hands you the pieces and you have to put it together in a clever way. This game hands you all the info needed, you put it together, then you spend an hour or two roaming around trying to find the last obscure symbols to finish the solution you already figured out. It just lost my interest because the fun part is solving the ideas behind the puzzle, not scouring to find one or two symbols. I think overall it is worth it for a puzzle person, but Myst I think does the game design and puzzle design a little better.
