Amazing game. short, but highly recommended. Heartwarming in all the best ways
best 20 dollars and 3 hours of my life.
I've been looking forward to this, and I had a lovely time with it. As others will point out, the camera controls can be a bit restrictive and some of the platforming on a keyboard is difficult. The puzzles ranged from very obvious to moderately challenging, with some of the memory puzzles being the hardest due to either an interesting twist on the format or confusing next steps. The memories that you get upon completing those puzzles are very touching. I realized fairly early on where this story might go and what may have inspired it, but the ending was very effective and I didn't expect to react so emotionally. It has me reflecting on the word games I used to play with my Rita.

Absolutely adorable game! It's a small cozy 3D platformer with word puzzles as a theme, and it was a very enjoyable experience.
It's not the hardest game in the world, but damn if it isn't charming as hell. And the Lingo 2-esque approach to word puzzles continues to work wonders. If you're a big word-puzzle-head then you might be a bit disappointed, but honestly you should still play this for the music, story, and the application of the mechanics. If there were an ability to add new, custom Memory puzzles, my already high opinion of Rita would skyrocket. There's a lot of potential, and I hope even if it's not official, that someone finds a way to bring that to life.
Great game. If you like puzzle games, or running around as a squeaking chicklet, I'd say this is a must play. Good difficulty curve except for 1-2 weird outliers. Lovely story for a puzzle game. Took roughly 6h to 100%.
Really good.
Really fun word puzzle game. I've been impatiently awaiting this since playing the demo in some past Next Fest. Has some difficulty options, decided at the beginning, intended to make the clues easier for kids and non-native speakers. I don't know how well that goes though, as I didn't take those options. Also has some find collectible helper options, though, again, I chose not to use them, so I can't say how useful they are. There was no indication whether these could be turned on later, but I also didn't look to try. There was a cryptic crossword in one of the later sections, which, thankfully, was on the super easy side of cryptics. (I've tried, in the past, to teach myself how to do them with ones printed in newspapers, and it just didn't work out. Even trying to work backwards, while looking at the answers, I just couldn't make sense of cryptic clues.) "Memory" puzzles, which are unlocked via collectible gathering, can be quite tricky and unintuitive. There are also a number of races to do (one of which (running), is in the demo). These mostly easy to achieve, once you discover the tricks to it. However, the swimming race is, compared to the rest of the game, abnormally tight at this time. You gain access to it in the 2nd area, but, actually, winning the time trial bit is post-game content, and even then, it's really hard.
My mother has never particularly cared for video games. I always have. It's one of many things we don't see eye to eye on. But one thing we've both always enjoyed are word puzzles. To this day, every morning, at breakfast, we make our bagels, we sit down next to each other, and we complete the word puzzles in our daily newspaper. She does the crossword, I do the jumble and sudoku. It's one of our little rituals. So when I saw this adorable game with delightful puzzles and cute as heck chickens to tell its story, I knew I had to share it with her, even though things like platforming and world exploration aren't really her thing. And safe to say, we both ADORED this game. Solving the puzzles together was fun, the character designs are so cute, the music is delightful, and the story was incredibly moving at times. We loved the sections where you could swap between Rita and her grandchicklet (whom we named "Writa") and the whole thing was such a treat to do together. I've never seen my mom enjoy a video game so much. For the past week, every morning, she'd ask "Do you think we'll have some spare time to play Rita after breakfast?" (after we'd completed our daily puzzles in the newspaper, of course) or "Will we have time to play Rita when you get home from work?" and of course, I did my best to fit a little bit in every day. We just completed the end of the game and we were so happy with it. I cried at the goodbye. My mom didn't, but she's always been more emotionally resilient than me. Massive shout out to the wonderful developer and amazing team behind this game. You've given me and my family something truly special to us. I hope to one day even be able to play this with my own kid. All the love to the team, the developer, and to Rita!
What a delightful game. Funny writing, engaging puzzles, and pleasant aesthetics make it a really enjoyable experience to play. The semi-fixed camera is annoying at times, but there’s really not much platforming other than a few easy jumps here and there, so it’s not that big of a deal.
