Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.2/day in the week to Jul 20 → 1.5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Rise of Piracy focuses heavily on progression and growth. In your campaign, you will first be given a small ship and a handful of coin. Complete missions and find treasure to build your economic strength and relations with the other factions. You can also choose to fight, boarding or sinking other vessels for loot. Build up your fleet of ships and their crews to take on the most challenging tasks such as capture islands of various strength and composition. Defeating large colonial fleets in grand scale naval warfare. Hunt pirates or long lost treasures. Uncovering mysterious lands filled with dangers as you go.
Everything in Rise of Piracy is carefully hand-crafted to be a new experience and challenge, no procedural generation. Every building in is destructible, allowing you to level an island from afar via bombardment from your fleet before sending your crews as landing parties to conquer them. Talk to mayors of settlements and captains of fleets to uncover hidden lands, or find them yourself through exploration and investigation.
Piracy is optional. Choose to trade with over 200 commodities that can be found scattered around the world. Ports with specialized trading routes and dedicated merchants to trade with. Add trading ships to your fleet to maximize your transportation potential. Build relations with other factions to increase your trading effectiveness. Engaging in war, hunting bounties, or seeking hidden treasures are also viable means of building your bank.
A deep diplomacy system allows relationships to grow between all factions. Engage in diplomacy with every faction you meet. NPC factions will go to war with one another and their assets will change hands. Changing the balance of powers can impact your play-style, increasing warship activity, and blocking trade routes.
Fill your fleet with a large variety of playable ships from the 1600s - 1900s, from the light and fast Sloop to the tremendous firepower but limited maneuverability that comes with the 120 Gun ship of the Line. Taverns provide a great place to hire crewmen for your fleet. Fill your ships with specialized crew. Use them to board hostile ships, or invading and capturing islands to secure passive income. Hostile actions will have consequences amongst the factions - fleets of pirate hunters are constantly seeking bounties. Campaign difficulty will grow dynamically and remain challenging no matter how strong players get.

Worthy of a play through as several different roles. Be a pirate, or a mercenary. Try your hand at trading, diplomacy. Even rule a small kingdom, if you so dare.
For an early access game, it is pretty good and looks very promising. I really am looking forward to more content and gameplay being released. Keep up the great work Devs. This game defintely scratches the itch of playing something like Pirates!

I need Chinese, thank you.
Really good. still is early stage but still a very solid game and worth the prices
I want to like this game, but it is just not stable enough. For example if you visit an island (not a city, but an island) it puts you into a similar screen as if you are in combat, but there is no obvious way to exit the screen, control your ship or interact with the game in any meaningful manner. Has good ingredients but needs to bake more. I plan to give it 3 to 6 months and try again.
I know I'm relatively low on hours played. but the time I spent in game I enjoyed the heck out of. This is definitely the spiritual successor to Sid Meier's Pirates. a game i logged a ton of hours on in my younger years. it scratches that nostalgia itch for sure. for being in early access its surprisingly bug free, mostly. I did run into one issue about 5hrs in and after a brief hop on to discord, the dev helped me through it right away and i was back playing in no time. single bug aside, it is early access after all, i expected way more problems than just my single issue. it feels fully fleshed out despite being early access and having plenty of stuff on road map for future updates. i didn't feel like i was playing an unfinished game at all. I do however have just one critique and i may just not have found a way to do it in game yet, boarding actions, i didn't see a way to do them. maybe i just missed a way to to do them? that aside, I've already recommended this game to just about all of my friends that would listen. keep on doing a great job! ***EDIT*** Please disregard my critique about the lack of a boarding mechanics. apparently the game does indeed have that as a feature. it has it all.
The sails dont even turn with the wind... That was the first thing I noticed starting out and its very immersion breaking. The game needs a lot more time to cook as of right now its got a good idea on paper but so many details are not taken care of yet and who knows if the devs will. Ship combat is boring and ive had multiple fights where the enemy starts out with all their ships on fire. Seems fire is used as a visual Hp status. Traveling the main map is boring and confusing as its all blacked out like you woke up with Amnesia but now you are a fleet commander. The track route will disappear if you stop so you have to go back to the missions and re track it if its a quest. Also pretty boring as it just sails you to the port automatically and maybe you will have a fight on the way. Lots of graphics glitches and if you zoom out you can see right threw your ships into the water. Also Ships move like tanks and have horrible physics. Why even play a naval game if the wind and water has nothing to do with combat. Ive been told i can buy a new ship at port then at any port there are no ships available. And Ive already seen enough videos about the land battles and how bad they look, so before my 2 hours is up I'm done with this game and getting my $ back. Maybe when the game is finished and the sails actually move around with wind direction ill pick it back up cause it is a cool idea but for now there is a lot of other Naval strategic type games to spend time on.
It's fun but very unfinished and far from a full game
I bought this on the steam summer sale, and its worth it at that price, but not at full price. It's like mount and blade warband but with ships. Note that I mentioned WARBAND and not BANNERLORD because the functionality is still quite limited. The skeleton of a good game is there, but not the flesh. Immersion isn't all there, and the UI still needs work, its a bit unintuitive in battles. In the campaign map, everything is a menu, which is fine, but it could use more flavour. I feel like they basically copied mount and blade warband and put it at sea. The methods for capturing setllements are also more brute force than tactical. I don't seem to see much use specialization or need for specialization in ships for amphibious assaults since numbers carry the day. There also aren't ways to save and set up troop deployments. It deploys troops onshore as a massive blob, instead of men getting off boats. Also, I don't know if I'm missing something, but it seems like my ships can't provide fire support during beach landings. Graphically, they do it, but I don't see it having any effect one enemies. Ship battles, while cool looking, come down to who has the most guns, more so than who has better tactics and the leading wind direction. While basic naval tactics apply, don't expect tactical control a la empire/napoleon total war. The economy is there, though its pretty barebones and lacks dynamism - prices stay the same, supply and demand doesn't shift much, and the wealth of a settlement slowly replenishes with time with no relation to other impact.
yes ,, needs more ,, but yes i like it
