Nota: 7/10

The gameplay and difficulty are lacking compared to modern standards but it's a great entry point for anyone looking to get into JRPGs, especially if they are a young gamer. It's light hearted and whimsical from start to finish. The game doesn't take itself too seriously and it's a comfortable and enjoyable experience even on Hard mode for a first timer. This is a wonderful trip down memory lane. This is a good example of bringing back an old school game and not making any drastic unnecessary changes to the script or the game or attempting to ruin the graphics with A.I. upscaling. I was all too thrilled to slap on the CRT filter and enjoy.
Childhood favorite game. I am so grateful they decided to release the English version of Marl's Kingdom trilogy.
Incredibly endearing short RPG with musical elements and a sweet story. Although, there's a few disadvantages I would like to address: The gameplay is quite repetitive while the difficulty is non-existent with it being too easy (for my experience it was on normal. I'm not sure if its the same for hard.) The labyrinth like dungeons and caves looked identical from each other the only difference was like it being a different color palette and different pathways I easily got lost in. Despite those issues, the game was still enjoyable and heartwarming. If you want a short friendly beginner RPG I recommend it. PS: please use the CRT filter it's honestly the best looking visually wise out of the three options
Very cute game with an enjoyable story. It's only downside is that it is extremely easy. Play on hard mode and you will still one shot every enemy, if not two shot.
Really cute and nice game to play, love the musical elements
Easy recommend for anyone looking a cute and wholesome RPG especially for beginners or looking for a shorter adventure. The combat is very easy which means little to no grind is being required to progress. The story very straightforward and filled with charming characters so the ~10 hours are the perfect length for the game i feel. The musical scenes are a very cute idea and a big part of the games identity.
When I was browsing games by NIS, I accidentally found this. I watched the trailer and was instantly hooked on, especially the music used in the trailer. First time I've ever seen a musical strategy RPG. I was like, "I need that!" After playing through the story, I fell in love with the characters and the world they inhabit. Cornet is so cool. I got to see that she was someone who is kind, caring, but also determined and steadfast. But the story would be nothing with the musicals. OMG, I love the songs here, they're very nice to listen to. My two favorites are called "Our World" and "Thank You". One of the main villain, Marjorly, was really funny. I mean, she was evil for kidnapping the prince, but she just gets no respect from the three people that's under her command (Myao, Gao, and Crowdia). Now, the combat is I think one of its biggest weakness. If you have played any Disgaea, then this is pretty similar. There are many different puppets and monsters that you can acquire and many of them can use magic that costs mana to cast. The trouble is that the enemies are way too easy. I mean, not all games have to be difficult, but there's almost no challenge when dealing with any enemy. I got genuinely got bored so much from the battles that I just used auto attack for all my characters. The only tough fight is the final boss, but that's because 1 hit from him could halve you or your puppets health. Then there are the dungeons. Now, when I read a few of the reviews for Rhapsody, many of them point out that you can easily get lost in the dungeons. I thought, "how bad can it be?" The first dungeon wasn't too bad, but then I tried to go to the Ancient Forest and got completely lost. All of its rooms look exactly the same, not to mention the many diverging paths that it has (this isn't just limited to the Ancient Forest, but to many other Dungeons like Salsa Volcano, Ice Temple, and especially Marjorly's Castle) Overall, this game is pretty good. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the music, but the monster battles and dungeon designs are kind of bad. But I'd still recommend it.
