About
rFactor 2 is a realistic, easily extendable racing simulation from Studio 397. It offers the latest in vehicle and race customization, great graphics, outstanding multiplayer and the height of racing realism. rFactor 2 features mixed class road racing with ultra realistic dynamics, an immersive sound environment and stunning graphics, perfect for top-level esports and a rich single-player experience.
Race against a field of AI cars, or in multi-player mode against others. rFactor 2 supports a full day-night cycle as well as dynamically varying weather conditions such as rain which dynamically builds into puddles. Tracks feature "real-road" technology that changes the grip as more cars drive on it. You can run full 24 hour endurance events and in multi-player mode, driver swaps are also supported. Everything can be customized by the community, including adding new tracks and cars, and a wealth of add-ons are available on-line.Working with several partners, rFactor 2 has been used in hundreds of esport championships all over the world – in particular McLaren’s World’s Fastest Gamer and Formula E.

Cars' physics is mostly better than any other sim. And, OMG, the tyres! You can feel them. Racing the AI is really good: way, way better than AC, on a par with the AI in AMS2, maybe even better. I got all of the content (which does cost a bit), but I'm very happy I did. The game can, often, look really good too, almost at the level of AC. I'll be using RF2 for a long time.
Buy at your own risk! First of all, rFactor 2 is just a husk. 0 Cars, 0 Tracks. You need to download extra content just to even play the game. Secondly, the piece meal pricing is absurd. You could buy the base Asseto Corsa for the price of one of rFactor 2's cars. The first time it downloaded the base content game failed to start entirely. The second time I downloaded the game, I had to add just one workshop item to even start playing it. It tells me this product was not even bug tested to see if it's fit for purpose at all! This game is so buggy the Force Feedback effects disappeared entirely in the first practice session. I had heard the horror stories, but decided to give it a shot since I could get it on the cheap. Even when it worked, the FFB still seems inferior to Assetto Corsa anyway, so I just ended up uninstalling the game. My suggestion if you buy is to thoroughly test if all your gear works properly with this. Keep an eye on the time played though, you will probably need to refund this junk.
New player experience is pretty poor Downloading mods outside other than from workshop isn't working after close to 2-3 hours of troubleshooting but no use. Game is on the brink of abandonment as well
yes and no yes because its cheaper and more new-player frendly but it requires too many dlc's soooo 7/10
Great Physics model and official content but the best part of this sim is that it is easily modded and the workshop has great mods available if you prefer to stick entirely to steam
