Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Aug 27 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You’re not just running a video rental store.
You’re running out of time.
RUN THE WORLD'S LAST VIDEO RENTAL STORE
You’ve inherited the last video rental store in town. You're broke, drowning in late returns, and streaming giant RentNet just opened across the street.
Run your store by day.
Do whatever it takes to survive by night.
The longer you stay in business, the more chaotic things become.
Order movies, snacks, toys, and rare collectibles. Stock shelves, manage customers, and expand your store from a dying shop into a thriving business.
Hire employees, automate operations, and optimize every inch of your store.
Every decision determines whether you survive another week.
Oh and did we mention we have PLENTY of store customization options?
The store alone isn’t enough.
Run underground fight clubs. Gamble on scratcher tickets. Install a claw machine. Take on shady side hustles across the city.
Some will make you rich.
Some will ruin you.
Produce and release your own original films to compete with RentNet.
Manage production, release films, and turn your store into something far bigger than a rental shop.
Explore a low-poly open city by foot or scooter. Discover secrets, track NPC schedules, and unlock increasingly dangerous and lucrative opportunities.
Run the store alone or with friends in co-op multiplayer. PLEASE NOTE: Co-op is temporarily disabled in the main build due to performance instability. Saves you create now will be co-op compatible when it returns.
To play co-op today, switch to the Legacy branch (right-click the game in your Library → Properties → Betas → "Legacy"), which runs the June build and your older saves.
Restoring co-op is our top priority. Timeline to follow here and in our Discord once 1.0 hotfixes settle.
Divide responsibilities, expand faster, and take bigger risks together.
Every asset, illustration, and piece of marketing was created by real artists.
TL;DR
A really great game made by team who loved the world they were building. Even more so evident by the recent update they did! The humor stands out, the game play mechanics are solid, and the graphics fit the world wonderfully. Seriously give this game a chance with some friends and you’ll probably love it.
Pros
Fun with friends Cat Rave Great Humor How we should be doing movies and console game rentals IRL. Cat Rave.
Cons
Can’t Infinite Cat Rave A little difficult to solo? Maybe I’m just bad. Tutorial might need a re-go over
What I'd like to see for the future
- Let me activate the Cat Rave as many times as I would like. - More character customization, possibly allow us to draw our own faces?
*WORDY PERSONAL REVIEW*
* I received a free copy of the game Rewind 99 has an interesting and mysterious world built around a nostalgic store type that archaeologists just rediscovered! The game truly captures that Rental Store feeling with the stands and posters. It turns out it was actually kind of difficult to plan those stores out and keep them exciting every time a new movie would come out. A hilariously written game with the exact right graphics is the best way I’d describe this. While the movement can be a little stiff, and the graphics sometimes phase through things, it really is just a fun little game to play with some friends.

Had so much fun playing it! Cant wait to play with my friends
This game nails that feeling of building something from the ground up. Seeing the progress over time is extremely rewarding.
I HAD A BLAST! Made me remember my childhood... although I am happy the stores did not come at me with a bat to 'request' I get the tape back on time. Highly recommend the game!
While still brand new so there are some parts a little buggy, the game is super cute and there is more to it than I expected! There are many goofy ways to interact with npcs. The random titles when mixing movies is great and got a good laugh out of me. Multiplayer is taken down for now for optimization but will return and after playing solo, I can tell I will have a BLAST playing with friends. Yes, I was lucky and received the game for free, but I was left open to my own opinion completely. Hotfixes will be quickly released since 1.0 coming out and, the game will be even better based on how I enjoyed it so far!
I didn’t expect to care this much about a video rental store, but now I treat every upgrade like a major business decision.
The moment I started caring about where every movie was placed on the shelf, I realized this game had completely hooked me.
This game is amazing. I watched a friend play and then we played with the Co-op mode and wow, we absolutely had so much fun. Yes there are definitely some bugs but that is to be expected with any new game. I'm so excited for new updates and future gameplay.
Has a lot of promise! Unique take on the sims we see popping up everywhere. Graphic style is fun and the objectives and tasks are gratifying. Good variety of things to do as well so you can shake it up no pressure. Well worth the price!
