Its an interesting game. It lacks the traditional roguelite feel, which a game like Hades has. Instead once you get the hang of it, you will likely finish the game in 2 runs, which run for a few hours each. There isnt a huge element of choice or making your build. There also isnt much of a storyline. Just very disjointed flashes of a storyline. I dont think it made much sense either. But this game has good combat and I like the art style. I finished the main story (6 biomes), but I doubt I will play more for the DLC or the true ending. Its not worth it. So basically, I would reluctantly recommend it. Its a fun game, but dont go in expecting much. I had fun, but I can see why it didnt really do too well.
This game hits all my buttons. If you enjoy story driven, dark and pretty hard rogue likes this one definetely is for you.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 28: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A lot of fun jumpy-shooty times. Story is nothing to write home about (hard to piece together, not especially interesting once you do), though the mid-point beat was fun. But a lot of fun to learn, get better, repeat, progress.
great rougelike. had it on ps5 but dont have ps plus anymore. def worth it on sale !
So, it's a meh for me. The game tries to be 2 things at the same time: a big budget AAA narrative experience and a roguelike. And i feel it fails in both. I will not say a lot to avoid spoilers, but i will try to describe problems with both aspects of the game. Big budget narrative game: i feel like the story and the delivery of the story is just not interesting enough after the main plot points are initially established. It's like a Chekhov's gun that never fires. Most of the story is just brief cutscenes that appear after you die and audio logs you can get. And because of that you just become disinterested in what's going on and you don't care about the character you play as. And at some point
after 2 fake out endings
it become too tiring to care as well. And considering that the other aspect of the game is not well done, the narrative is supposed to be the engine that makes you wanna play again, to see what happens next. But halfway through the playthrough i just stopped ccaring. Rouge-like aspect: here i will write a lot more: 1) your weapons are just different guns: pistol, shotgun, rifle, etc. Those guns can have up to 3 passive modifiers. That's it. You are on an alien planet, but your weapons are just human weapons. It's not enough variety to make dying and doing another run fun. 2) You can get up to 15 passive abilities, but this abilities are not powerful enough, not different enough and not cool/fun enough to make each run worth it. Rouglike thrive on the "one more run" feeling, because every run can become a broken fun mess (Isaac, slay the spire, hades). But because upgrades a limited and weak you never get this "god run" that you will remember afterwards. 3) Lack of build variety. You play the game the same way every time, regardless of upgrades or the weapon. It's always the same. 4) Bullet hell doesn't wort well in 3D. The game starts with enemies that fire 1 barrage of slow moving projectiles, but as the game progresses most battles have enemies with barrages, big laser beams and ring attacks all at the same time. And 1 hit is enough to bring down your "power meter" (abilities you get for killing mobs like higher melee damage, wallhack, etc.). All of that means that the best approach to every combat is not doing what the character is doing in the trailers (actively moving, masterfully dodging the attacks, using abilities, etc.), but... 5) ....Kite and kill. After act 1 i understood that the best approach is to try to find a good weapon and just kill mobs one by one from the entrance of the arena. There are some enemies that will force you to move back wars while shooting at them, but it's braindead. Now the good parts: 1) Presentation is superb. It is "generic sci-fi number 12" but for some reason it works. 2) Cosmic horror and the fear of the unknown happens naturally in this game, because you probably don't know anything besides "it's a 3d bullet hell rougelike from a sony studio). But, as i've mention, at some point the way the story is presented and the lack of anything meaningful happening makes you not care. 3) Music is good. it's not god-tied, not even great, but it works very well to accompany the atmosphere of the game. Like you won't remember any melody or track from the game, but in the moment it does what it supposed to. I'm at a point where after credits game told me "there are more secrets to discover" and to be honest, i'm not looking forward to playing the same game i've been playing for 12 hours. I thing this is a good proof of concept, but not good enough to be what it tries to be. I bough it for 25 dollars or so on a discount with my reward point from my job that i cannot spend on anything else.. If i'd spent my own money, i would have regretted.
I want to preface that I already beat this game and played several hours on PS5 when it first came out. This is arguably one of the best Rougelikes ever made, as well as easily one of the hardest. The main reason is that this is the most "Rogue" Roguelike I've ever played, where if you die, you start from scratch. There's almost no meta progression beyond a few extremely minor things, and is heavily dependent upon you getting better yourself as the player. You get no upgrades beyond unlocking weapon progression which is still randomized upon pickup, and a few items/equipment that don't make the game necessarily easier, but allow for deeper traversal and more options to play with. Losing a run feels extremely defeating because of this, more than any soulslike or roguelike than I've ever played before... but than the opposite remains true. When you get the hang of it, when you get farther on a run, beat a boss, clear more areas without taking damage, you feel more and more unstoppable. The intoxicating feeling this game gives of the smallest to biggest wins is unlike anything else. This coupled with a lovecraftian story with a marriage of HR Geiger and general Cosmic Cthulu type horror art style is just up my alley. It's a tragic story, one that gives both true hope and hopelessness at the same time, all the time. Can Selene escape? I've shouted from the rooftops since this released on PS5 that Housemarque crafted something truly special, and that if you have the patience to really give this game the chance, if you're okay with it's extremely punishing difficulty, you're in for one of the best 3rd Person Shooter games ever made.

Prime 20 ore.
my first roguelike. 'heckin difficult game. still worth it.
