WOULD I RECOMMEND? - I would absolutely recommend this game to anyone that loves simulator games, especially those that are starved for those old 90s retro vibes (Gen X and Millennials). - Because of it's price I would say check for Steam deals and sales when buying this game. GAMEPLAY - Unlike some games in the simulator genre, this game does not feel tedious. - The core mechanics of this game feel simple and easy to understand. The pricing is already done for you too, so you don't have to worry about percentages and getting your calculator out every five minutes. - Unfortunately as with all simulators this game can feel repetitive when it comes to things like checking in the VHS tapes, but there is enough deviation within the game to choose from which can break this up. When you are high enough level to hire staff you can eliminate the issue entirely and focus on whatever it is that you'd like to do in the game. - For the adults that play this game there is a shady "Tape Dealer" mechanic that gives you options for adult movies to rent out, but this is optional and can be turned off in the games settings if not wanted. - The seasonal events are a nice touch, you can view these on the calendar in the office to see what is expected to come. Some of these events are quirky and of course have an effect on the level of customer interaction (Christmas creates more people wanting to hire Xmas movies). It keeps the small area outside of your store from looking generic and boring. (See what i'd like added to the game) CONTROLS & HANDLING - The keybinds used in this game feel simple and easy to learn. It is one of those games where you can walk away for weeks, go back to it and figure the keybinds out within a few seconds. - The handling of the game feels smooth and provides a good experience overall unlike some games that feel clunky. STORY & LORE - There is no official storyline or lore, but there are a few hints you can find (notes) about the game, though it changes nothing about the actual game itself. GAME LENGTH & PACING - The game has save slots, so it has replayability if you want to play around with different layouts or start again without writing over your old saves. - The game gives a generous amount of experience points so it is fairly easy to level up. Each time you level up you unlock different items or genres of movies, so there is always something to look forward to. There is a board in the office which shows you what you can unlock at each level which is nice. TUTORIAL & LEARNING CURVE - The tutorial was extremely easy to follow and helped me settle into the game quickly. GRAPHICS & ART STYLE - The art style is fun and designed to give that retro vibe, with smooth textures. - The peoples faces are funny to look at. - The lighting in the game isn't too bright or too dark. SOUND & MUSIC - The sound and music gives off the 90s retro vibe feel, though it can get quite repetitive. (See what i'd like added to the game) ACCESSIBILITY - All fonts were extremely easy to read and of a good size. - I did not experience any motion sickness when playing the game. There are options to change mouse sensitivity and camera FOV if you usually have issues with these things. There are also options in the settings such as Motion sensitivity mode and Photosensitivity. - I have not had to rebind the keys, but as far as I can see there are options to do do. - There is also a sound option for Phonophobia to change the volume of explosive sounds. PRICE & VALUE - At it's current price I do think it is in the higher end budget of simulator games, but it feels justified because it feels like a polished game. Although for it's price I would have expected more decorative items and customisation options. - If you are struggling wish cash and are interested in simulator games I highly recommend watching out for when it goes on sale or check if it is cheaper in a bundle. PERFORMANCE & BUGS - During my time playing this game (Over 30+ hours) I did not experience any framerate issues, even when the weather changed outside of the store. The weather effects are subtle and do not take over the vibe of the game. - I have not come across any bugs in the game so far, if there were they would have been extremely minor I imagine. UPDATES & DEV SUPPORT - From what I can see the devs give information about once a month, so they seem quite active compared to some. WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE ADDED - More themed decorations for each movie genre. - More colours for the shelves, walls and floors. - An area for each genre of movie and more space for decorating. - A specific zone for holographic VHS collections. - The seasonal events to be interactive, I was sad that I couldn't open the presents at the Christmas event. - Customisation for the front of the store. - The option to change the music track you listen to, different options would be a nice touch. EXPECTATIONS & GENRE FIT - This game met my expectations and was exactly as the title claimed it to be. The player gets to run a retro style VHS store. - It is a perfect example of a game that fits in the simulator genre. - If you are a fan of simulator games where you get to run your own store, you'll enjoy this game. - Unlike other store simulators this one is slightly unique. Yes you can still sell things such as candy, but the main point of this game is renting movies out.

Ja macht Laune. Ist am Ende nix anderes wie jeder andere Simulator. Haben sich ein paar nette Sachen einfallen lassen. Wenn man am Ende alles hat ist die Motivation es weiter zu spielen gesunken. Ich hab so gut wie alles und mache jetzt nur noch die Videoregale mit Filmen voll, danach wird es wohl nicht mehr gespielt werden.
