Retro Rewind - Video Store Simulator

Pure nostalgia! A great game for rewinding yourself back to the 90s.

One of the better 'store sim' games, can feel a little grindy at times but it has a very charming vibe and a lot of character to make up for it. Definitely worth the money. If you enjoy TCG Shop sim, Supermarket Sim, or Roadside Research, you will like this one just as much if not more.

So my mom used to work at a video store back in the 90s. She always talks about how it was her favourite job ever and how much she misses it. She would tell me all sorts of stories and I loved it. So I saw this game, thought of her, and decided to get it. So it's fun. I like it, the concept is fun and obviously it hits a personal note with me. The only thing I'd say is it does sort of have that cheap "slop" feel to it. Especially with the names and covers of the movies. Now they obviously can't use real movies, but it's just a bit distracting with the system they use. I don't really know how to describe it. The game isn't bad. And they're still updating it which is nice. I think it's mostly worth it when it's on sale.

The game lacks depth beyond cosmetics/aesthetics. There's not enough management nuance or replayability to justify the cost. There's not a way to make the store more efficient as far as I can tell, so the end game is to collect all of the movies which is time intensive.

Its a very entertaining and addictive game for my ADHD brain lol. It's one those games you can easily get into and want to keep going.

Really love this game! Play it alot after work to just chill out and soak up the 90s vibes. Being a 90s kid, definitely feels nostalgic. Just a few tiny little things are a bit irksome, like when restocking things like the toys, drinks, concessions and snacks, it'd be great if whatever you clocked on was what automatically came up to restock instead of having to cycle through everything to get to the correct item. Also with the register, if it could come up with a warning to say if the money given out is too much too or the numbers could go red if it's over the amount given? Not been the first time I gave out too much money by accident! Apart from that, great game and can't wait for the new updates!
