Your squad has been choppered to a remote mansion to investigate a bio-experiment gone wrong. You’re plunged straight into a deathtrap. Arm yourself, solve puzzles, and unearth mysteries. But beware: every move you make draws you deeper into the deadly embrace of Resident Evil.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Sep 7 → 2.14/day in the week after.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Defined Survival Horror. 9/10
After playing it, I got why the franchise became such a big thing.
The first game is clearly a test-drive into bringing the genre of survival horror into the gaming sphere's attention, using popular 90s snuff horror movie filmography as an inspiration to the game tone and set. I'm a 99 Brazilian dude who saw my whole lineage of siblings and kin playing this through the big tube screen, and never understood a thing about it, for the game being completely in English and scary for an 8-year-old. I tried to, and clearly remember this game in particular being a fundamental exercise for my English learning. After a good 20 years, I figured out why it was such a massive event at the time.

The game is basically puzzle solving inside a map exploration with a "mediocre" (yet to be evolved) narrative about a colonial family mansion being used as a secret bio weapon laboratory in collusion with a large-scale pharmaceutical company. We start the game as (and or) the two agents of the Special Tactical and Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.), an elite tactical special forces division under the jurisdiction of the Raccoon City (the city of the events) police department, operating a search and rescue operation over the surroundings of the quoted mansion after being informed of many missing people being completely off the radar as soon as they came around the mansion site. We soon learn these people became zombies, undead people, roaming around the mansion field and inside, leading us as the S.T.A.R.S. crew, into desperately finding a way out, but more than that, the truth about the infections and the conspiracy between an ancient family, influential political figures and a big pharmaceutical company. Definitely worth the playthrough, it engaged me from the start, and every single day I couldn't wait for the moment to start the game again.

a little tip?
Just... please, use ReShade with Geom to turn the graphics into something closer to the original screen representation (by mixing the pixelated pre-rendered background sets with actual scanlines simulated over your game, so it can make the pixel-chunky pre-rendered bgs into something more faithful to the anachronistic gameplay) deff double thumbs up! hope the franchise keeps the scores up and higher with the sequels.
