Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

A technical Marvel for its time and of the best shooters ever!
Ignore the playtime, I used a third-party launcher, as you should too. Alpine Faction is the launcher you should use, as it adds proper multiplayer support, modern resolutions, mod support and a bunch of other technical features and fixes. This game is great. Arguably the only game in the series to "nail" it. The music is fantastic for the time, the story is serviceable, the enemies are fun to kill, the weapons are (mostly) very unique and well-designed, and it's just the perfect amount of time to play through. The end of the story is the weakest. The space station and merc base are kind of a slog and not really challenging. The final "boss" is fine, but disarming the bomb after is a little cheesy. Otherwise, it's a fantastic setting, and definitely worth buying on sale. If you end up enjoying this game, look at Red Faction: Guerilla. Red Faction 2 and Armageddon are terrible titles and should be avoided. Multiplayer is a little dead, considering the game is ancient, but some groups still have Red Faction nights if you care or want to relive the past.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I played this on the ps2 back in the day, Amazing game. Honestly this game has aged well since then, Story was always great. Highly recommend.
I played this game as a child, and I still think this is one of the greatest games of all time. If gaming had followed this direction, of destructible environments and gameplay based gameplay, then I think the gaming landscape would have been much better today. But alas, Red Faction did not have the marketing power behind it that its contemporaries did, so unfortunately, it did not have the influence on gaming, as a whole, that it should have had. But that does not take away from the game, 10/10. NOTE: The game runs perfectly on linux. If you want 4k resolution, check the excellent guide to the dash faction mod by this good samaritan here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1748240979 (after his steps, I had to use Proton-GE as well for this mod)
most accurate depiction of what its like to work in an amazon warehouse bruh WHERE IS THE BOT MULTIPLAYER FROM THE PS2 VERSION??? that junk is fire, nobody hardly even plays the actual online multiplayer, except for quake 3 pros who would one shot you in a split second which nobody in their right mind would even want to play against
Volition made a BANGER
A timeless classic that introduced some of the first destructible environments to gaming right at the dawn of the 2000s. Running it through again in such high definition has been one heck of a trip down nostalgia lane and it helped define the early era of console FPS games. Everything from the soundtrack to the level designs are interesting and gritty and it would be amazing to see this game remade..... well if they truly stick to the original script and material anyway.
people need to grow some balls and pull a red faction haha!
