Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 31 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TL;DR I am only giving a positive review because I can refund. I am almost at the 2 hours mark, after 2 long runs. Pros: * Art is cute * You want to beat the game * It's a genuine attempt at a game, if imperfect. * It is genuinely fun and can capture your interest... for a few hours * I think there are few things to challenge you for a dozen hours if you really want your money worth (I see locked things but I haven't unlocked myself) Cons: * I got pretty much the same events and cards in the same order over on both runs. I don't think there's any diversity between runs. * The full price is steep at £15 for what you get. * The UI breaks every time I pause while hovering on a card. Cards get frozen and I have to click around repeatedly to try to unfreeze. * Trying to move units between walls is painful. You can't select units. There are some buttons that should do things but it's not usable. (Was it made for a tablet with touch control???) * Highest resolution available is only 1080p. I have a 4k display (thankfully the rendering worked well on 1080 full screen!) * Everything is basically happening on a timer, by design, the design does not lend itself to long strategic thinking or diverse runs. It's fine if you like something faster and more casual. Absolute Hell: * Cards are the bottom of the screen and the description is OUTSIDE of the screen, so you cannot read the description of any card in your hand (see screenshots for example). * IT IS SO IRRITATING. THE ASS***** WHO CAME UP WITH THIS DESIGN DESERVES A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL! I hover each card to read its effects, and pause the game to read. Oh ♥♥♥♥, did I mention that pausing is breaking the UI? (I can appreciate that the developer wanted an inactive pause, you can't play cards while paused, but I don't think the UI remaining stuck/buggy is intentional) Overall: I can understand people who have reviews after only 2-3 hours, both positive and negative. There might genuinely not be more to see. I can understand people who have spent 20-50 hours. Maybe there is a bit to see if you unlock everything (is there really?) and try every starting map/character with a slightly different effect. Maybe I am just a grumpy old man. I don't like to destroy games where people have really put effort in making them. Gotta manage expectations. The game is good enough, for a short casual game. EDIT: upon refund, I realised I got on sale for £7, so maybe I will do another few hours to complete, or maybe not. EDIT 2: refunded. too mad a the UI.
If you love playing Kingdom : New Lands, Kingdom : Two Crowns etc. you should play this game. This game is more challenging, worth every penny.
Ratropolis is a unique blend of deck-building strategy and tower defense mechanics developed by Hypetrain Digital. Set in a whimsical yet tense world where anthropomorphic rats struggle to survive against waves of invading enemies, the game offers a refreshing take on both genres by combining resource management, strategic card play, and real-time defense. Its charming pixel art style and quirky characters create an engaging atmosphere that belies the depth of tactical decision-making required to succeed. At its core, Ratropolis challenges players to build and protect their rat settlement through careful planning and adaptive strategies, making it an addictive experience for fans of strategy and rogue-lite games. Gameplay in Ratropolis revolves around collecting and playing cards to build defenses, gather resources, and recruit units during a day phase, followed by a night phase where the settlement must withstand waves of attackers. This cyclical rhythm of preparation and defense keeps the pace dynamic and engaging. The deck-building aspect adds layers of complexity, as players customize their decks before and during runs to synergize different abilities and tactics. Cards range from simple structures like walls and farms to powerful spells and special units, allowing for diverse strategies. Success hinges on balancing offense, defense, and resource generation while responding to the evolving threats each night brings. The strategic depth of Ratropolis is enhanced by its roguelike elements. Each run offers randomized challenges, card draws, and enemy waves, ensuring that no two playthroughs are the same. This unpredictability forces players to adapt their strategies on the fly and experiment with different deck combinations and defensive layouts. Progression is tied to unlocking new cards and characters, which expands tactical options and keeps the gameplay fresh. The learning curve is gradual but rewarding, as mastering the synergy between cards and understanding enemy patterns is key to advancing deeper into the game. Visually, Ratropolis stands out with its detailed pixel art that brings the rat world to life. The vibrant environments, character animations, and attack effects contribute to an atmosphere that is both lighthearted and intense. The game strikes a balance between cartoonish charm and the urgency of survival, making the tension of defense phases feel thrilling rather than stressful. The audio design complements the visuals well, with catchy music and sound effects that emphasize the action without becoming repetitive or intrusive. One of the most compelling aspects of Ratropolis is its intuitive interface and controls. Managing cards, resources, and units is streamlined, allowing players to focus on strategy rather than cumbersome mechanics. The tutorial and early levels ease players into the game’s systems without overwhelming them, yet the challenge scales effectively as new enemy types and mechanics are introduced. This accessibility paired with strategic depth broadens the game’s appeal to both casual players and hardcore strategy enthusiasts. Despite its strengths, Ratropolis is not without limitations. Some players may find that the randomness inherent in roguelike deck-building can occasionally lead to frustrating situations where success feels more reliant on luck than skill. Additionally, while the core loop is engaging, it may become repetitive over extended sessions if players do not explore the full breadth of deck combinations and strategies. The campaign mode is somewhat short, and the game could benefit from additional content or variety to extend replayability further. However, regular updates and community engagement have helped mitigate some of these concerns. In summary, Ratropolis offers a clever and enjoyable fusion of deck-building and tower defense that stands out due to its charming presentation, strategic complexity, and satisfying gameplay loop. It challenges players to think creatively and adapt quickly, rewarding both tactical planning and flexible decision-making. While it may occasionally hinge on RNG, the depth of strategy and engaging progression systems make it a rewarding experience for strategy fans. Whether you’re drawn in by the adorable rat characters or the blend of genres, Ratropolis delivers a distinctive and compelling adventure through a world where every card played could mean the difference between survival and annihilation. Хорошая игра про крыс.
Fun fast paced card game. My only complaint is that when the walls closest to your palace fall... its game over. You should be able to assign defense cards to your palace to keep things going.
