For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. It's fun enough at first, but I found the signals and pathfinding get very buggy before long; Trains sit forever at a light for no reason, and with no notification until you wonder why an industry has ground to a halt. Signals don't seem to change back to green when they should, and deleting the offending signals often froze the train with no option but to scrap it and start over. No option to pause individual trains to manage gridlocks - there is a pause button, but it doesn't actually stop the train until it reaches it's destination. The pathfinding used to avoid a congested line would've been great if it didn't take a train halfway across the map while stopping at random stations along the way, so you have to set up waypoints at every intersection for every single individual train which is just frustrating. If it were early access I'd be a bit more lenient but a fully released game - at this price - is just a big NO. If they fixed the bugs and dropped the price by ~70% then it would be a thumbs up, but until then just play the first one instead!
I have played this game from the first version and there are a great many good things about it. That said, this latest iteration delivers some frustrations that have forced me to quit. The same bugs/issues from the first one are here again. Setting traffic direction can literally be down to individual sign as there is no way to say, "Change the direction of all signs on this line". While that's a major nuisance, it's minor compared to the issue of loading/unloading. The entire game becomes extremely complicated by the a supply chain that isn't micro managed - it's nanomanaged. Entire supply chains get killed off at any time by any supply OR demand chain issue, which changes at all times. This should be a good thing, but not in this implementation. You can create a perfect supply chain and all the sudden they don't want as much anymore so the train just sits there, or even worse, they want it but the supply isn't there anymore... entirely dynamic, and that's perfectly OK normally, except that the whole supply train chain will just sit there. It doesn't adjust, it just sits there; all of them, permanently until you figure out which of the 20 steps has adjusted. Again, this would normally be OK except that you now have to babysit every train every minute for every possible problem even if it has 10 stops involving 3 to 7 trains to complete the chain. If you have 50 or 100 trains, you are literally just hitting pause to adjust trains... every second. Every other game allows for some automatic adjustment, or doesn't just hold those trains indefinitely. Most of them have a "pick up what they have and drop it off where it's needed" approach. This issue makes it unplayable for me. That said, I still love the game - but only in small doses with small implementations because I'm not going to sit for 10 hours trying to sort out the 1 item that shuts down an entire supply/demand chain for every chain.

--> Besser regelbarer Beladeautomatismus muss her! Leider also kein Langzeitspiel für mich.
I got suckered in by positive reviews. This game is horrible. Graphics are really bad and the UI is terrible. Calling it a successor to Railroad Tycoon 3 is a mistake. RT3 might be 2 decades old but it's map actually looked better. Railway Empire (20hrs) might be cartoony and Transport Fever 2 (112hrs) may have it's bugs but they are both on a different level than this one.
A worthy successor of Railroad Tycoon. For those who loved Sid Meier's Railroad Tycoon, you'll likely love this game, too.
I really wanted to enjoy Railroad Corporation because I'm a huge fan of transport management games. I've played Railroad Tycoon, Transport Fever and plenty of other railway sims, so I'm not coming into this genre blind. Unfortunately, Railroad Corporation feels like it's constantly fighting the player instead of letting you build an efficient railway. I failed the first mission several times, not because I didn't understand the objective, but because the economy feels painfully slow. Goods take such a long time to move between cities that, unless you can afford multiple trains almost immediately, your income struggles to keep pace with the mission objectives. It feels less like a logistics challenge and more like waiting for the clock to tick. The biggest issue, however, is the sheer amount of unnecessary micromanagement. Need to upgrade your locomotives? You can't simply select every train and upgrade them all if you have the money. Instead, you have to visit each station where they're happen to be parked and upgrade them individually. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. It quickly becomes tedious, especially once your railway starts growing. There really should be an "Upgrade All" option. Cargo management is another major frustration. If I have several trains running the exact same route, carrying logs from City A to City B, I expect them all to follow the same rules automatically, once City B has reached its storage limit for logs, the trains continue unloading there rather than automatically diverting the excess into my warehouse. The only way around this is to manually edit every single locomotive on that route to unload at the warehouse instead. Why isn't this a route-wide setting? Better yet, why doesn't the game automatically send excess goods to the warehouse once the city's demand has been met? Requiring the player to change every train individually is unnecessary micromanagement. There are some good ideas here. Building railways is enjoyable, the progression system has potential, and I like the business side of the game. But too many basic quality-of-life features are missing. Route templates, bulk locomotive upgrades, smarter warehouse automation, and shared settings for trains on the same route would massively improve the experience. Right now, it feels like I'm managing menus more than I'm managing a railway. That's a shame, because beneath all the clicking is a game that could have been genuinely great.
Very nice additions to the core gameplay of the first game but sadly a technical mess. Oh I really want to like and would love to recommend this game. Placing the tracks is well done. Track curvature, inclination and vehicles have a well balanced implementation of effects on each other. The way the routes are created is also well done and easy to understand. It even prevents players from creating planned routes that would run into problems later on. However the game does have a massive problem: The way the multiplayer is implemented. Sadly there is a large amount of desyncs, signals/semaphores sometimes do not get placed or are placed in other places, trains get stuck in random positions without indication of cause (this also happens in singleplayer and frustratingly even in the campaign). The main reason I had to purchase this game was to play it with friends. Something the previous title did marvelously. Whilst it as well had some problems, these were mostly fixed by restarting. RC2 does save more rigorously, sadly also saving the trains stuck in place, making rounds impossible to continue playing when multiple trains get stuck. Whilst the game is absolutely fun and the mechanics are very deep and varied, the main aspect of transporting goods sadly breaks often. Placing tracks works - as stated above - very well and the tools given to the player are also very easy to understand. Pressing Shift allows to place straight tracks and pressing Alt allows the placement of second, third and so on tracks next to an existing track. I really like how the placement of tracks - especially concerning the length of a placed segment - results in changed train speeds and costs of construction. When trains work - which is most of the time - the game does well what it does. Trains start rolling slowly, picking up speed based on how much they are hauling and their acceleration and running cost scale based on what amount of performace is enabled. Because in this game you can even set a max amount of performance that the trains use to accelerate. Not only this, you can expand and configure your stations. Whilst yes, they are only stats and are not visible - apart from added tracks - it is an interestening mechanic that you have to think about where to place depots, mechanics workshops and additions to your stations because every single one costs maintenance. Do you want to best maintain and fill your trains? Build mechanics workshops and refil upgrades along your routes - keep in mind though that there is a cost connected to this. As already stated I really want to be able to recommend this game. I really want to like playing this game. The bugs sadly stop me from being able to.
Tons of bugs for this price? Forget it. Game released in trash condition. I will change my mind when game will work normaly, minimum bugs. Price overhigh. U guys made railroad corporation with good potential, srcond part interesting, but u guys not interested make it good really, u need money, just money, DLC, DLC and base trash game.
Anyone liking railroad tycoon series will like this one lifgting the game to recent time.
I really enjoy this game, because you can set it up for fast paced timed play or remove the time limits and play at your own pace with other human players or AI. As always there are bugs but the Devs seem to be very pro-active and very receptive to the community base. If you're into RTS games and you like Monopoly and trains......I think you'll dig this game.
