You are Ranger, a warrior armed with a powerful arsenal of weapons. i bought it when it first came out, i still have the CD somewhere. impressive gameplay, especially for the time. first with mouselook, immersive creepy experience.
Honestly I hate the new campaign, Dawn of the Machine. I am only on level 4 or so but I have seen enough. A maze followed by a cramped arena with enough monsters you cannot possibly carry enough ammo to kill them all and you just run round and round collecting ammo and waiting for ammo to spawn in. Doom Eternal was ratchet and clank ported to doom 2016 assets and now someone has ported ratchet and clank to quake assets. BUT YOU GET POWERUPZ FOR YOUR CHARACHTER AND BY THE END OF THE GAME YOU KN CARRY LAWDS OF AMMO. And I don't need to git gud n00b I platinumed on PS5, I just hate the concept of grinding out your character abilities to play through the campaign a second time.

if you like "boomer shooters" and haven't played this, you're in for a treat. Especially since the 30th anniversary release - there's so much to do before trying anything third-party. Apparently the multiplayer bangs, too. I can't vouch for that though.
