Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

You are Ranger, a warrior armed with a powerful arsenal of weapons. Fight corrupted knights, deformed ogres and an army of twisted creatures across four dark dimensions of infested military bases, ancient medieval castles, lava-filled dungeons and gothic cathedrals in search of the four magic runes. Only after you have collected the runes will you hold the power to defeat the ancient evil that threatens all of humanity.
Quake also comes with both original expansion packs: “The Scourge of Armagon” and “Dissolution of Eternity,” as well as three expansions developed by the award-winning team at MachineGames: “Dimension of the Past,” “Dimension of the Machine,” and the all-new “Dawn of the Machine.”
Ranger is trapped in a dimension of endless illusion—reliving the same violent cycles for what feels like lifetimes, dying thousands of times in a futile attempt to escape. Wearied but unbroken, he has heard rumor of The Nightmare Machine.
Beyond the hordes of monsters—twisted by an eternity in the Elder realms—lies the Machine. It is believed its destruction will shatter the illusion, finally breaking the loop.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

It really isn't that good. No modern improvements can fix a bad game.
No me canso de jugarlo, Half Life, Counter-Strike y Team Fortress le deben mucho a este juego. Lo mas importante es que la comunidad esta activa mas que nunca. Por eso vale la pena tenerlo en tu colección. 10/10
Only 22% of players have beat Chapter one... WTF is everyone doing??????
Best game ever made
The first Quake is something truly special. The game possesses a very particular, dark aura. The gameplay, I like it so much compared to Quake 2 and other – newer – shooters I’ve been playing. You run around and you shoot – there isn’t much else to it. The whole environment is hostile – everything you see, and the map itself, is out to get you. And the monsters you’re up against do not behave like anything fully conscious; they behave like wild animals – when they’re not attacking you, they’re attacking each other, without any forethought or foresight. The dark ambient score by Nine Inch Nails does so much to up the atmosphere (at times, it is hypnotic). Paired with the wails of the enemies, the score – and the visual design of the game – makes one feel like they are fighting through some dark underworld, no human eyes were ever meant to see. All the game’s limitation and simplicity – even primitiveness – compared to newer shooters is what makes me like it even more. It just feels like playing a shooter stripped down to its bare essentials. You are that protagonist, caught in a nonsensical battle against hellish forces, fighting a repetitive and maddening battle in illogical, yet somehow familiar enough to traverse, environments. I must say, having played Quake 2 first, I couldn’t help but compare it. Initially, I was of the opinion that Quake 2 was better – it’s faster, has more enemy variety; that, and I thought that the more modern feeling level design was better. However, now, I think the first Quake is much better. It does more with less. Plus, the hell / Gothic nightmare aesthetic has aged much better than the space marine thing in Quake 2.
played this game mostly because Trent Reznor did the soundtrack and the sounds.Didn't expect it to be so pleasant to play.Final boss is disappointment btw(
That Trent Reznor fella should be in a band
