Still an amazing game, and the latest DLC is just phenomenal. The level design of the newer DLCs has impressed me again and again. And yes, the Swedish fika is real!

I was a good ways through my bloody nightmare difficulty run of dawn of the machine with all four runes collected and needing only to replay the earlier stages yet again for health and ammo upgrades that i had missed. Considering that i am not a professional speedrunner and do occasionally die (skill issue) i occasionally have to reload my save when playing the hardest difficulty, this was a system that had been working fine for a majority of my run until recently. On this occasion i was unable to do that as my save game had been randomly deleted leaving me with a save game from many hours earlier that was on a completely different difficulty, was it on nightmare or hard? i don't know in all honesty because the save games didn't have listed times/dates next to them for me to be sure, but since then i have searched for an answer on google, toggled my cloud data on and off as well as looking through my userdata to check if they are floating around somewhere on my system and it genuinely just seems as though they have been erased from existence because i can't find them. I know this review won't do anything to help and its mostly just to vent, i'll even most likely play the game again in future since i do enjoy it. Suffice to say however that this entire situation has well and truly pissed me off though.
Ragazzi è Quake, che dobbiamo dire di piu?? Se Doom è il papà di tutti gli FPS, Quake è il suo degno figlio e, grazie al 3d, ha perfezionato la formula di Doom, portandola nell'era moderna... Per quei pochi che negli ultimi 30 anni hanno vissuto sotto un sasso, cosa è Quake? è un gioco dove si corre, si spara, si uccidono orde di nemici con un arsenale di armi niente male e non si è mai al sicuro... MAI... Credo sia un dovere di ogni essere umano che tocca una tastiera, giocare Quake e dopo giocare i vecchi Doom, cosi da capire dove tutto è partito..
The updates have turned this into an amazing game. Combat feels great, and everything from sound to graphics is fantastic. Aside from some game design elements like secret areas, the game doesn't feel dated at all. There's tons of content between the base game and a bunch of expansions, including one that just came out. They gave away a free expansion 30 years after the game came out! Who does that?! I wish all the good old games got this level of treatment. Just awesome.
