one of the few stories that actually changed my perception of life, loss and the ability to move on and create from the ashes. the rites gameplay is still weird af but the story is worth every second, it made me cry several times, it stirred feelings again in me replaying it after so many years. this is art, videogames can be art, developers care for their craft and pour all their love into them <3
I can see how this game could become the most underrated of Supergiant's games. It's unique enough to where it doesn't have a natural audience looking for it. But that's exactly why I think you should give the game a go. There isn't really another game out there like this one. It's a VN with awesome characters, writing, visuals, and storytelling that is interrupted by a strange fantasy-infused soccer game. Did I have more fun playing Hades? Yeah, but like, I really appreciate this game and wish that other people did too. Give this game a try.

This game sat in my backlog for years, mainly because I don't think I enjoyed the orb game before. Gave it another shot - it's designed well and allows a few strategies and there's lots of talismans to pick from but it's quite simple. The difficulty scales up a lot of you choose titan powers before matches later on. It follows the same formula Hades does where you play chunks of game content followed by time passing and a lot of character interactions. Although in Pyre's case I think the game portion is less appealing and niche - but can still be fun. Glad I revisited it and love the art and music as always with this studio.
Never thought ritualistic basketball visual novel would be so amazing
The best Supergiant game, and the best story. Because it was able to tell the story of this world, its large cast of oddballs and weirdos, and got me to care a lot for them, all in the span of 15 hours. That's definitely some kind of record.
Good art but was not a fan of the main gameplay loop, its just meh. Too much dialogue and not great UI either.
art is good. story is decent. unfortunately the gameplay turned me off. I thought it was an action game based on the tag on the game's store. I was expecting something similar to their other titles like bastion or transistor, turned out it's a fantasy sport??? if you don't like sport genre, I don't recommend this one. the only supergiant games' title that I dropped. such a shame.
Amazing game; I got so attached to all the characters, and the choices you make regarding them really do feel like they matter
