Kinda bland and boring. Easy, short. Doesn’t do anything wrong, runs well on Steam Deck. I didn’t notice any bugs. The production quality and humorous writing is surprisingly good for such an obvious low budget. If you want a Halloween themed, relaxing, low-frills platformer that’s not going to pose much of a challenge toward getting all the achievements, Pumpkin Jack is fine.

[h2]Dýňová plošinovka v duchu PS2 éry[/h2] Pumpkin Jack je energická 3D hack-and-slash plošinovka, která vás okamžitě okouzlí svou stylizovanou halloweenskou estetikou a neotřelou premisou. Příběh totiž otáčí klasické hrdinské klišé úplně naruby. Ďábel už se nudil poklidným životem na Zemi, a tak na lidské království seslal strašlivé prokletí. Když král povolá mocného čaroděje, aby zemi zachránil, Lucifer nelení a oživí Lakomého Jacka – bájného podvodníka s oživlou dýní místo hlavy. Vaším úkolem v kůži tohoto cynického antihrdiny je projít barvitým světem a onoho „otravného“ ochránce dobra nemilosrdně zastavit. Hratelností i celkovým duchem hra perfektně vzdává hold ikonickým plošinovkám z éry PlayStation 2, jako byly Crash Bandicoot nebo Spyro the Dragon. Čeká vás přímočará, ale nesmírně chytlavá hratelnost plná skákání, akčních soubojů a svižného tempa, které vás nenechá se nudit. Pěkné vizuální zpracování skvěle doplňuje chytlavý soundtrack a všudypřítomný humor. Obrovským plusem je také fakt, že je hra doslova prošpikovaná skvělými easter eggy a narážkami na mytologii i popkulturní hity typu Pán prstenů nebo Hra o trůny, což vám během průchodu spolehlivě vykouzlí úsměv na tváři. Ve výsledku je Pumpkin Jack nesmírně příjemným a relaxačním osvěžením od dnešních obřích mainstreamových titulů. Hra vás sice zabaví jen na několik hodin, ale po celou dobu si udržuje skvělou atmosféru a nabízí přesně ten typ čisté videoherní radosti, ke které se po čase rádi vrátíte. Titul vřele doporučuji všem milovníkům klasických 3D skákaček a každému, kdo hledá stylovou a vtipnou jednohubku.
Quite funny and charming - reminds me a lot of the haunted mansion level from Banjo Kazooie. Worth the 5 hours and couple of dollars it cost to experience, hope this team moves on to bigger and better things. 6.5/10.

Pumpkin Jack foi um jogo que comprei inicialmente para adicionar mais um título à minha coleção de jogos com 100% de conquistas, mas acabou sendo uma experiência muito mais divertida do que eu esperava. O jogo traz uma ótima mistura de plataforma, ação e exploração, com mecânicas simples de aprender, mas agradáveis de jogar. A movimentação é fluida, os combates funcionam bem e cada fase apresenta desafios suficientes para manter a experiência interessante do começo ao fim. Outro ponto positivo é a variedade de gameplay. Em determinados momentos, o jogo apresenta mecânicas diferentes e até mudanças na forma de jogar, o que ajuda a evitar que tudo fique repetitivo. Isso faz com que cada capítulo tenha sua própria identidade. A história também cumpre bem o seu papel. Apesar de não ser algo extremamente complexo, ela é divertida, carismática e combina perfeitamente com o clima sombrio e bem-humorado do jogo. O visual inspirado no Halloween dá ainda mais personalidade à aventura. Além disso, fazer 100% das conquistas foi uma experiência agradável, sem se tornar algo cansativo ou frustrante. É aquele tipo de jogo que você joga para se divertir e acaba completando tudo naturalmente. No geral, Pumpkin Jack é uma excelente opção para quem gosta de jogos de plataforma 3D com personalidade, boa jogabilidade e um toque de nostalgia dos clássicos do gênero.
