Its fine. I've seen it compared to medievil and that is an apt comparison. The vibes of a decently fun mid tier 3dplatformer are here, you got the basic combat, the mandatory cart riding section, and every character has that lighthearted charm you remember from those old platformers in the late 90's. The problem with this game stems from its jumping. Its borderline akin to the first castlevania, where if you push a direction while jumping, thats the direction your jump arc will be in. There are small adjustments that can be made, but on the whole, if you hold left when you press jump, youre going to hard commit to jumping left. That makes it feel floaty and a bit less responsive than your traditional modern platformer. There will be very few reactionary jumps, only planned, intentional ones. Also, combat feels a bit disconnected, as the game overdoes visual effects in combat. Enemies flash when you hit them, the screen shakes whenever you press the attack button, there isnt much in the way of hitstun to jack hisself, and every enemy seems to get automatic super armor after 2 hits of your 3 hit combo, so its pretty easy to think youre mowing enemies down when really youre a hit away from death. I can recommend it because it can be found for dirt cheap, the vibes are there, and the gameplay is serviceable. Its a time filler if you love short, simple, easy to beat games. Nothing blowaway or standout, but perfectly fine, with obvious flaws in design.
