Primal Planet is a beautiful 2-D platformer in the subgenre of Metroidvania, and though I did get it for half off, it is absolutely worth the full $20. I finished the game in just under 9 hours, almost all in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. Right away I was sucked in and attached to the nameless caveman protagonist and his little cave-family just living their lives and doing ♥♥♥♥ sapien things. Almost immediately, disaster strikes, you become separated, and you're on a quest to find your family members. Death waits around every corner, and the dinosaurs don't pull punches. Combat is hectic, but fair, and you'll need to master every ability in your toolkit if you want to be the one getting, rather than being, lunch. Every biome is positively pixel perfect between lush jungles, dark cave networks, secret alcoves, and the abyssal depths of the sea. The story, art, mechanics and progression felt satisfying to me, and even though I didn't max out my character, I felt satisfied with my humble stat spread by the end. I know this is where people usually give a X/10 score, but I don't think I'm gonna do that. I recommend the game, two thumbs up, a great experience, and I would absolutely play it again right now in local co-op mode.

Quite fun and good storyline. Only one save file tho. Mine got overwritten 6hrs in and I haven’t had the energy to restart. So maybe one day I’ll return back to the game but for now. It’s good. Just don’t mess up that save file. You only get one. PS. If you play two players. The Player2 is a Dino so you can main single player and add in the P2 anytime n they won’t need to know all the game mechanics.

Good bones... but really poorly designed and paced. I got to the very end but quit because I just couldn't stand trekking back yet another time.
A neat little mix-up on the usual metroidvania formula. The game is surprisingly open (maybe too open at times) and lets you run around this prehistoric dino-and-alien-filled world to your heart's content. It doesn't overstay its welcome, and successfully commits to avoiding any spoken or written dialog. Worth trying for a few hours, and possibly finishing with a few more.

Çünkü güzel çeşitlilik sağlıyor, hem görsel manada hem de silah ve karakter çeşitliliği konusunda etkileyici bir iş yakalamış. Ancak, ben metroidvania sevmememe rağmen ilgimi çekti. Ki öyle orman konsepti benim fazla ilgimi çekti, ancak bazı mızraklı platformer kısımları sinir etti ve metroidvania dan genel olarak sıkıldığım için bu oyundan hızlı koptum. İlgilenenler için mutlaka oynamaya değer bir oyun olduğunu düşünüyorum. Toplamda 5-6 saatlik oynayacağınız bir oyun çıkıyor karşınıza. Emeğe saygıdan dolayı kesinlikle öneriyorum. Tabii, bunları söyledim diye de beklentilerinizi çok üst seviyeye çekmeyin. Ultra harika bir deneyim sunmayacak. Ortalama olarak bir beklenti içerisine girerseniz eğlenirsiniz.

짧고 재미있어요. 도전과제는 고양이 빼면 지루한 건 없어서 올도과는 쉬운 편이에요. 마지막 목표는 알려주지 않아서 눈치껏 모아서 찾아가셔야 해요. 초중반 레벨업이 너무 느린 느낌이라면 영혼 나무를 찾아 다니는 걸 추천해요.
This game was so sweet, felt like you could play it on a C64 back in the 80s...but with slightly better graphics. I wish it were longer though, and i was hoping for more "lore" with the greys. 8/10 easy
