Not a bad Slay the spire type of game. Its pretty solid and i enjoyed it. The only real downside is that the game play is slowed by how many characters there are. It is regularly 4 allies vs 4 enemies so you have to sit and think carefully every turn which enemy to attack and which character to buff. You can't just fly through combat.
if you ever wanted a roguelike deckbuilder that was somehow a mix of Borderlands, Guitar Hero, and Deep Sky Derelicts... well, look, that's a pretty crazy idea. i don't really know how those things would even go together. but Power Chord proves that they do! and it's an AMAZING time! definitely worth the money and the time you'll inevitably sink into this wonderful little game. if it had unlockable outfits / colors for your band, it would REALLY complete the vibe of the games i mentioned above.

If I am not getting best synergy cards relics I feel completely useless and feel like I am wasting my time by playing this run/game. Too many cards depend on synergy and are completly useless without it. I also dislike how most gear has a downside when it is not even that powerful to begin with. And when at the end of act after beating the boss I got 3 relics that had downsides that would make me significantly weaker I just skipped them. That is just terrible design in my opinion. Shops are kind of useless also and thus money as well. It would be very nice to have payed reroll in the shop or just more options. May be add upgrade card option to the shop as well. I feel like cards lack upgrades. Even small change like giving three card options instead of two at the end of battle could be very impactful change and would make game more enjoyable. I can not recommend this game at this point
The only real problem I have with the game is one I often find in some other roguelike deckbuilders, that is, you have a set amount (4) of relics you can equip on your characters. It's even works as the starting relic of each character is what make each character unique so it cannot be replace and there's another relic for each character to be able to fight the final boss, so you can essentially equip only 2 relics per character, which really limits run diversity and fun. That and most stances are basically useless as they can only be used once per fight and are consumed and you lose the buff if you take hp damage. If the devs care to fix those two things the game would be a honest 8/StS, which is great. But I don't see it happening... Maybe with a mod. *sight*

While the game itself was enjoyable, I was hoping for a bit more longevity. While the presentation is impressive, the gameplay doesn't extend much beyond a surface level. While it's fun for a while, the deck building feels like the worst part of this deck building game. For a more in depth review, check out my video below! https://youtu.be/Kkv_8NE4tX0
a decent roguelike deckbuilder, but the art, themes and the aesthetics are outstanding
Fun little deckbuilder with a good sense of humor. Sometimes RNGesus hates you but most runs can at least get through a boss or two while you unlock better cards, characters, gear, whatever for future runs. So you'll make progress even if you lose.
Very cool looking game, but some design and particularly gameplay choices just don't work. For example, many of the different enemy types look very similar, and the game gives them random skin colours so recognising them is very difficult. This is particularly annoying because the game otherwise does a great job colour coding the different types of characters. The gameplay gimmic of having four band members is an interesting idea, but unfortunatly doesn't really work because there is virtually no synergy between most of them, and some characters don't even synergise with themselves, which makes using them in a satisfying way impossible. I think I've finally cracked the game. It involves spamming one of Tora's starting cards over and over again, and just removing everything else I started with until the end game, where I can basically just kill anything in one tern.
