Great game, took me a while to figure out the controls but that's besides the point. This game has potential to be big and with a few tweaks i'm sure that will happen. I would of played more, just i'm a bit scared now.
6/10 A free indie horror game that has potential, but feels like it's hindered by some of its flaws. Porcupine's Fate works like many other horror games do: you use a light source to navigate dark areas and fight enemies with guns. The difference is that monsters are replaced with cube-shaped robots in this game. That would be fine, but the game has a lot of issues that overall hindered how much I was enjoying it. Technical issues first and foremost - even reducing the graphic settings, the game still has some major issues with framerate and even turning the character around feels sluggish. Besides the technical issues, the game overall just didn't really do anything to catch my interest while I was playing it. The game uses some indestructible enemies to make it so the player uses stealth instead of combat, but there are very few places where you can actually hide (where the game gives you the option to hide) and, besides, these enemies can just be outrun until they stop chasing you anyway. I eventually got stuck in a point where I just couldn't figure out what to do. I had found 2 doors that required codes to open but didn't find any codes through any of the documents or emails I found or even by looking around. Between this and the technical issues with the game, I ended up getting burned out from trying any further. Still, however, it's a free game and it's not really a bad game, just not something that interested me enough. There might be better value for someone who can push through the game.

Pretty decent horror atmospheric game with flaws that other devs can learn from. The devs created a somewhat believeable atmosphere, pretty cool cutscenes and intro scene. The goals are not very well defined for the player, though. The player and camera movement still need work. A darkness slider would be useful because sometimes in shower areas with A LOT of vapour/fog, you can barely see where you're moving towards. The UI needs work as well, the buttons not really responsive for me. Also when you pick up ammo or health packs, you need to open your inventory to use them because there is no input set up to do it just during the gameplay. (ex: R for Reload, T for Manual Healing, just as tips) The save system could be improved (you have to go back to the main menu to load a save game). Enemy AI would need some work as well, because it can get annoying constantly getting trappedinto level furniture that you can't jump over, by 5-6 porcupines that just rush at you. One lasr porcupine shot at me through a door that I closed, so the mechanic where you try to block them in a room, sometimes doesn't work properly.
I understand what its trying to do, its just not there.
Before I played Porcupine's Fate, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
