mega fajna gra polecam naprawde!!!
POHMIELISKO, developed and published by Pohybelnia, is a compact yet highly distinctive first-person horror experience that leans into atmosphere, cultural specificity, and unsettling absurdity to leave a strong impression despite its short length. The game places players in a bleak, aging apartment complex inspired by late 20th-century Eastern European living spaces, immediately grounding the experience in a setting that feels authentic and lived-in. What begins as a relatively mundane exploration of this familiar environment gradually spirals into something far more surreal and disquieting, blurring the line between reality and hallucination in a way that keeps players constantly uncertain of what to expect next. The gameplay structure is intentionally simple, focusing primarily on exploration and environmental interaction rather than complex systems or combat. Players move through narrow hallways, cluttered rooms, and communal areas, examining objects and triggering events that slowly build a fragmented narrative. The lack of traditional mechanics works in the game’s favor, as it allows the atmosphere and pacing to take center stage. Moments of quiet observation are frequently interrupted by strange or disturbing occurrences, creating a rhythm that alternates between calm and tension. This design keeps the experience engaging, even though the core interactions remain straightforward throughout. Visually, POHMIELISKO stands out through its unusual combination of retro-inspired pixelation and modern lighting effects. The deliberately low-resolution textures evoke a sense of nostalgia, while the dynamic lighting adds depth and realism that contrasts with the rougher visual elements. This clash of styles enhances the game’s unsettling tone, making environments feel both familiar and distorted at the same time. The visual design is not conventionally polished, but it is purposeful, contributing heavily to the dreamlike and often disorienting atmosphere that defines the experience. One of the most notable aspects of the game is its tone, which blends psychological horror with a layer of dark, sometimes absurd humor. Rather than maintaining a constant sense of dread, the game frequently shifts between unsettling and strangely comedic moments, creating an unpredictable emotional rhythm. This approach gives POHMIELISKO a unique identity, as it refuses to fully commit to either pure horror or satire. For some players, this contrast will make the experience more memorable and engaging, while others may find the tonal shifts uneven or difficult to interpret. The narrative is presented in a fragmented and interpretive manner, relying on environmental clues and brief encounters rather than direct storytelling. Players are encouraged to piece together meaning from what they observe, forming their own understanding of the events and themes. This approach aligns well with the game’s surreal nature, though it can also make the story feel elusive or incomplete. Combined with the relatively short playtime, the narrative may come across more as a conceptual vignette than a fully developed plot, leaving certain ideas open-ended. As an early access or small-scale project, the game does show some limitations. Its brief duration means that it can be completed quickly, which may leave players wishing for a more expansive experience. Additionally, the reliance on atmosphere and abstract storytelling may not appeal to those who prefer clear objectives or more traditional horror structures. Some minor technical roughness and design inconsistencies can also be present, though they do little to undermine the overall impact. Despite these shortcomings, POHMIELISKO succeeds in delivering a memorable and unconventional horror experience that stands out through its strong artistic direction and willingness to experiment. It captures a specific mood and setting with confidence, using simplicity and creativity to create something that lingers in the mind long after it ends. For players who appreciate atmospheric, experimental horror with a touch of dark humor, it offers a short but compelling journey that feels both strange and uniquely personal. Rating: 7/10
